Sweet 8700k! Can I ask its voltage for that nice 5.3?
thanks man but this baby still under stress tests. Voltage is insane, 1.55v! AVX0. I'm keeping temps down with a home made water-cooled system, VRM are under 70 degrees, but is not a good OC. Probably I have to go back at 5.2GHz for a decent voltage, also looking at VCSAA and VCCIO voltages.
1.55! You sir, are brave!
My loop consists of 3x 480mm 45/60mm rads/D5/Ek blocks etc, and with all that I doubt I could cool down that beast of yours. lol
Mine's not naked(delid) yet tho. It's a fairly good chip(1.25v 5GHz), so I didn't really bothered. Got LM and all ready and I keep postponing it.
And I agree with ya. If it needs 1.55v for 5.3G's I would kick it back a notch. 5.2GHz is still just as great.
I hope OP don't mind a bit off topic posts. I just got a little excited when I saw the 8700k and 5.3 words together.

Your i5 score is very nice! Almost beating my i7 at 4.0Ghz.
Unfortunately the lack of HT has made my CPU completely outdated. Will be upgrading this year to Ryzen for sure.
Your CPU might be closing in on EOL too, but they both still kick a punch.
