    Hi!

Since I'm going to use a Mini-ITX system I was wondering what was considered the better option for me. I'll mostly be playing immersive games, things RPG's and story driven games. 2nd use if of course music.

    Current equipment:
    Beyerdynamic MMX300
Asus Xonar Essence STX ( the original )

For games I'd like to use Dolby Headphone, for music I use Foobar2000 with the 192/24 setting as much as possible since I have quite a few 24bit FLAC music files.

    I was wondering about:
    - Creative X7
    - Creative U7
    - Asus Essence One MKII
    - Asus Essence III

I haven't done any research yet and would like to start researching here.

    Thanks!

    For a good budget option.
    Asus Xonar U7, $90
    Hifimediy optical 9018 DAC, $59
Bravo Ocean tube (hybrid) headphone amplifier, $80

I recommend the Xonar U 7. Same software etc. as the Xonar Phoebus, and dammned near as good.
