how hot is the nforce4 Ultra supposed to run

my dfi board with its dinky little fan @ my overclocked settings runs @ about 50 - 55°... and the lil fan makes a bitch of a noise

i think that some of my stability issues is being caused by my chipset

For my noisy chipset fan I put a drop or two of vegetable oil in the center of the fan behind the sticker. You can also try arctic-silver 5,that helped me get a better, more stable fsb overclock.I think that temp is a little high, that's hot for a cpu!.Try those ideas before you spend more money on a new cooler or something.

mine runs 32c idle max OC maybe 39C but i have a heatpipe no fan.
55C seems high to me but I don't know what a safe temp for that is

The DFI NF4 boards do run hotter than most it seems, 50-55 is getting a bit too warm though, I would put some AS5 and reset the fan as suggested above and see what happens.

    tanx for the replies..

50° is the temp that my chipset get to.. my cpu doesn't go over 44° so i kno its fine...

i might try takin the fan off and puttin some ac5 on there.... hopefully that will keep her 1 or 2° cooler
