Well Im about a few years due a PC upgrade, however this time around I don't really play to many games so im keeping my graphics card.

I want a Quad or maybe a Tri Core. At least 4gb of ram. I also want a Full ATX board that-ll last.

However I want to keep this in the < $300 range.

I have a idea on what I'm getting but Id figured I check back here to see what someone would say.

    Mobo/Ram/Proc

get i5-2400/2320 + a decent H67 mobo + 8gb(1333) ram. If u were nt planning for oc go for this.
    Or
2500k+cheap z68 mobo + 4gb (1600) ram. This rig may be cross ur budget.

    Intel quad core option:

    i5-2400 $180 after promo
    Intel BOXDH67CLB3 $90
    PNY Optima 2x4GB 1333 $35

= $305 shipped. Then make an SSD your next upgrade.

    SSD option:

i3-2100 $115 - hyper threaded dual core, as fast as many AMD quad cores in multithreaded tasks, faster in 1-2 threaded; compare to i5-2400; compare to stock E2180
    Intel BOXDH67CLB3 $90
    PNY Optima 2x4GB 1333 $35
OCZ Agility 60GB SSD $60 after rebate

    = $300 AR shipped

    AMD Llano option:

AMD A8-3870K $140 - unlocked, overclockable; ~i3-2100 CPU performance; much faster GPU performance, allowing you to ditch the HD3850 and get decent frames per second
    Gigabyte GA-A75-D3H $90 after rebate
    2x4GB Mushkin 1600MHz $40

= $270 AR shipped and no need for HD3850. Make an SSD your next upgrade.

Really, a CPU/GPU Combo will outperform both my GPU and CPU already? That's pretty amazing.
