I played around with some 3D and fell over a set of Pulfrich 3D glasses.
Here is some info about the Pulfrich effect.
Basically the glasses have a clear and a very dark lens.
This method requires movement to work, which means it adds depth in games like racing games, tested up against F1 2010, Hot Pursuit 2011 and MS Rally Sport Challenge, all 3 with good results.
Tried with Torchlight, but the effect was lacking since the game doesn't got the same way of movement.
I guess a pair of sunglasses with dark lenses where you take out one of them would work too.

why not just use some red/blue filters in your sunglasses instead of the lenses.. celephane is cheap!

Sunglasses from Hong Kong import stores are cheap too. :)

Red/Blue filters require that you use anaglyph software which reduces fps.
Further you need to fine tune to match the colors.

What I described does not reduce fps and does not require any fine tuning.
Downside? It works only upon motion.

    LOL
    Didn't see that one before.

What I described is used by Television and even sold with DVD's, since production costs are lower than making an anaglyph version.
