The next Night City Wire event might be upon us in a couple of days !!!
Game of the decade confirmed!
CD Projekt Red has announced that the next Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire livestream will take place on August 10—that's next Monday at 1pm EDT (10am PDT / 6 pm CEST / 5 pm BST).
Can't wait to see more.
Higher quality version. You can definitely see why this game took over 7 years to make, so much attention to detail. It's almost like 3 games in one.
TBH I don't like this hard rock / metal music they present the game with. Hopefully the ingame music will be different because this doesn't fit cyberpunk theme at all.
I'd expect music themed like Ghost In The Shell, Deus Ex (all of them have great cyperpunk music), Crysis 2... or even something like Jeremiah Kane - Future Past. So many great songs...
I'm not crazy about it either, but I can't see it being played throughout the game. I'd also expect a lot of techno/electronic stuff hopefully. A band like Meteor would be absolutely perfect for this game imo.
Perfect blend of techno/rock
4K Night City Wire: Episode 2
The metal/punk will probably only be played at certain locations, not as dynamic background soundtrack.
woooohoooo, its gonna be insane!
Well I went through the music they added to the CP2077 YT channel and literally every song is terrible. Even "certain locations" with this kind of music would be too much for a cyberpunk game.
Another thing that staggers me is complete absence of any stealth gameplay footage. This is something I'd expect to be one of core mechanics in a cyberpunk game. Stealth approach and hacking of terminals. All we see is doom-like shooting and cutting heads. It looks more and more like some cyberpunk-themed FPS shooter and not a proper cyberpunk game.
We saw these activities already:
- hacking console
- taking someone out quietly via lasso
- hacking someone's weapon and jump the other guy with claws from above
But i agree, those were short and easily missable between action scenes. A proper video with only stealth and hacking would really be appreciated by many i think.
Yeah I don't like nor watch these click-bait videos where some random guy dissects official trailers, cuts out some random scenes and puts his own misleading assumptions over it.
I'll wait for some official info from developers.
Agree that over-usage of the heavy-metal style music would become grating and annoying after a while, but I fully understand why they needed to incorporate it in a stylish way to be in keeping with the Samurai / Silverhand components of the story (which are fairly important). I personally don't find it terrible, but I won't be adding it to my Spotify playlists anytime soon, and it'll probably work better in the context of whatever scenes it's played in. Honestly though, I am very impressed at the lengths to which they've gone to try to make that feel as authentic as possible, even if it won't be for everyone. I seriously doubt this is the overall style of music that we'll listening to as background or ambient music as we run around and explore; I trust CDPR will have done their homework and there will probably be something for everyone to enjoy given the huge diversity of the world they've otherwise created.
With the spit and polish this game will be given, I wouldnt be surprised should user chosen music themes be part of this gem.
Either that or what has been posted so far is just for effect, rather than how the game will be.
Either way, they have time to read opinions and make it less annoying.
Surprised nobody posted these yet:
Hoping the next episode of Night City Wire has ray traced reflections working, and that we see a new district.
With the latest delay, this is what I feared. Cancel and PC culture might seriously affect this game's release and content. At this point I just hope I live long enough to play it.
Totally agree on the music part
