Are these the official drivers to be released soon ?? and why 7 users use the vista one ?? supposed windows 7 to has its own driver !! and the drivers are dated only one week later to 9.5 driver !!! shame on ATI if this is the official 9.6 drivers to be released soon

 

Could be the officials, as the CCC states 9.6 (which it doesn't when only beta's).

 

this driver didnt update anything, catalyst still reports 9.5

 

Driver installed fine here (Vista x64), not WHQL signed and if the version number also works as a date then the drivers are from early last month and probably a beta version of 9.6.

No problems with them (Only tested a few titles though.) and the temps are also fine without having to exit a 3D application first.

As for what's different from 9.5 I have no idea, some new fixes for the drivers and CCC perhaps along with improved support for more recent titles I would guess.
(ArmA 2 for example.)


EDIT: Bit of a double edged sword haha, alt-tab worked but exiting ArmA 2 resulted in a BSOD from a ATI related DLL file, driver problem that is, great performance though. c1:

EDIT: Seems to be fixed by removing the -winxp command line parameter, previously used for Crossfire compatability but it doesn't seem to be needed anymore and it didn't BSOD either.

EDIT: I was wrong, measured in a better area with more objects to push the game a bit more, still doesn't fully utilize the second GPU outside of using the -winxp parameter which is a bit odd (Game related bug?), game remains playable however so it's not a issue.

 

No problems here. Drivers installed correctly. 9.6 and 8.62 is shown in CCC. Ty rflair. Gonna try some games. Arma 2 especially.

 

first time i tried a custom install in win7 x64 it said the driver i had (9.5 hotfix) was already up to date

but after editing the inf and msi, the install worked perfectly

i've put the msi and inf here if anybody wants to try them in win 7

Blah... again crap drivers for my system. Makes all my games stutter badly like the 9.5s did. Back 9.4s. Come on ati/amd get your S@#! together. Sigh... Maybe the final ones will work. Just my 2 cents...

Which folder do those patch files go into, as theres 2x folders with those in (LH_INF & LH6A_INF), or do you just copy em over both sets.

 

sorry i should have said, the files are the x64 ones from the LH6A_INF folder

 

Nice find there lad. Nice drivers, I got scored 100 (GPU) more on 3DMarkAdvantage but also 300 more on CPU (?!?!?!?). Have been playing Crysis and goes smoothly. GOing to give some games a try. I think Ill keep this ones, even if they go public soon on ATI.
