You could rename the fear2.exe to fear.exe, I have done this and I went from 70fps to 125 it works great.

I tried renaming and I got a steam error. But when I ran the riva tuner graphs and then played Fear 2, each of the 4 gpu's was showing about %35-%38 load so this would indicate that there is a crossfirex profile and that is with cat 8.12 hf2.

nope, it was a prank by a friend who passed a fake driver, they were modified 8.12 but under windows showed 9.2, i knew something was wrong when i cam to the thread and saw your posts asking "where i got them from" and found they weren't even on ATI website

the 8.12 for me had better IQ and had no bugs in L4D while the 9.1 had the bug, meh should've figured.

    i got 0wn3d. lol :D

The 4870 is a 4800 series card so no you dont need to be worried

Hopefully a lot of bugs have been fixed on this release or i am selling my cards
due to lack of correct support of drivers for Quadfire on Vista OS and games :/ not running propperly with crossfireX.
The last chance for ATI to prove they can unleash the power inside this beasts if they fix the bugs first, otherwise im going green :).

No set will make everyone completely satisfied. The set today (9.1) is the best for my rig thus far as as crossfirex goes. Works like a charm in every way.

Could they do better? Sure they could, but our expectations here are thru the roof. Green is having issues also on there end, its the name of the game, especially when expectations are set to high.
