I noticed in the task manager I can have anywhere from 1 to 3 Cli.exe processes running. Each one consumes about 5 mb of memory.

Is this normal? It seems a little odd to me.

I did see the is the release notes:

" * Launching the Adobe Gamma calibration application and moving the gamma slider back and forth, results in the Task Manager being filled with cli.exe until the system becomes low on memory. Further details can be found in topic number 737-20980"

But I am not doing anything with the Adobe Gamma calibration.

    Thanks,

    Fej

Just a bug I believe... If it begins taxing your system too much in the background, you may want to uninstall CCC and just use ATT to control your AA/AF and such.

    Thanks

"you may want to uninstall CCC and just use ATT to control your AA/AF and such."

Do you mean uninstall the Catalyst Control Center and then just install the driver only?

Will their be a performance hit since some of the bells and whistles are gone?

    Thanks,

    Fej

    Has ATI acknowledged the bug?

Does any know if ATI has ATI acknowledged the bug? Or is even aware of it?

How do you report this to ATI?

    Thanks,

    Fej

Either remove the CCC from your add/remove programs in the Windows Control Panel, or when you install the driver deselect the CCC option (should leave you with just the driver and WDM drivers if applicable). This will install only the driver component. Then install ATI Tray Tools and set all your settings from there.

There is no performance hit from doing it this way whatsoever. :)

With the ATi CCC tray tool active, 3 cli processes are normal -- not a bug.

Thanks....it really takes up a total of 15MB (5MB x 3)? That seems like a lot for a video card manager.

How do you know that's not a bug? Has ATI provided some statement or documentation. I still have a hard time believing that is the intended behavior.

    Thanks Regis!

They ought to give them different names to prevent confusion.
