lol I accidentaly found the cause of low fps... It was XP compatability mode in bfbcgame.exe properties!

I have no idea if it was releated. But it seemed that removing the direct3d dll's in bc2 main folder game smooth framerate

11.6 drivers are incredible for BFBC2, everyone must try them

Theres a fix for that if you rename one of MSI Afterburner's config files...

I posted this on AMD GAME forums. But it was the wrong place. I am another person struggling.

I'd like to say that, yes I am upset with performance, but I would love to work with AMD and fellow members in figuring out a solution. I do not mind running beta drivers or anything that may help AMD find a solution to this issue. Ok here goes.

First lets start with my system.

    CPU: 2500k @ 4.8ghz
    Motherboard: P67a-GD53 B3
    Ram: 12gb ddr3 1333
    Powersupply: Corsair 750w PSU
Hard Drive: Kingston 64gb SSD (for operating system and BFBC2)
    Hard Drive: 2TB for storage

This is all on a brand new instalation of windows 7 professional. Fresh install.

This is going going to be very long but I am severly upset in my 6970 CrossfireX setup.

    I have tried the following catalyst drivers 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5, 11.6

Yes even the latest drivers which were released yesterday.

As I log into a multiplayer round in BFBC2 my framerates are all over the place. The problem is that even with CrossfireX I get poor performance.

When I use MSI afterburner to check my GPU usage while gaming. My GPU usage is usually anywhere from 30-50% per GPU.

Why is the crossfire GPU usage so low? If I run 1 card my GPU usage goes to 90%+ but frame rates dont change. Why are my frame rates so low? Im getting equal if not better or consistent framerates with 1 card than I am with 2.

Is this something AMD is aware of? Are other users experiencing similar problems? I will updated this post with recent in game pics.

I disabled my crossfire and am now getting better framerates and smoother gameplay. This is very upsetting. I bought 2 cards just for this game pretty much. Now I dont know if I should sell the second card or keep it. Really really lame.

I used to have a similar issue with this game where my gpu usage in CFX was around 50-60%, but ever since updating to these new 11.6 drivers, both gpu's are above 90% now...

Are you using any CAP's? Or just the 11.6 alone?

    I use 11.6 + 11.5 CAP5 and I get 45-60% GPU usage, I'd love to see it above 90%.

I don't know about CFX but from what I've tested on a single setup the game is a CPU hog rather than GPU. On my old CPU I couldn't play the game on any resolution or graphical settings. As soon as I switched to a quad core my FPS doesn't dip bellow 30.

It works great for single cards, not dual.

Response from AMD tech support. I asked to further escalate the issue.

Your service request : SR #{ticketno:[]} has been reviewed and updated.

    Response and Service Request History:

I have seen this issue only in the multiplayer maps in Bad Company. My feeling is that they did not implement coding to run 2 cards in multiplayer maps, and coding will be designed for the single player campaign.

If both single player and multiplayer player both have the same issue, then there may be some corrupt files with the Battlefield engine.

You may try this third party utility; however this may not over ride any coding within the game engine.

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.

    Best regards,

What an absolutely ridiculous response. It worked with 10.4, but it doesn't in 11.5, so they must have changed the multiplayer maps. Wrongtarded.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but for the life of me I am unable to get BC2 working in DX11.....game loads fine...menus load...BUT when I select a server and press JOIN the screen just goes black for about 10 seconds (menu sounds still playing) and then BAM..quits to desktop.

Now when I enable DX10.....no problems. So its something related to DX11.

    I have:
    Re-installed the game.
    Re-installed DX
    Re-installed ATI drivers
    Nothing is overclocked.
    On board sound is disabled.
Tried various "running in various compatibility modes".
    Tried running as Admin.

Brand new motherboard / CPU / VIdeo cards / Power supply.

    drivin me nuts!!!
