Had the same issue right after I installed the Beta - green screen, a few sec freeze of system, then hang.
But after reboot everything is flawless (hopefully).

Has someone tried these drivers with Borderlands on Windows 7? With this game the Catalyst 10.7 WHQL are faster than the older 10.6 but cause crashes (apparently only on Windows 7 as AMD declare), so I was wondering... but sadly now I haven't time to try.

    Thanks in advance :)

Tried these drivers, all seemed good for a while then about 10-15 min. into BC2 I get severe micro stuttering. Gpu usage drops into the 30-60% range (as opposed to 90+) and game becomes unplayable.

Did the whole driver/reg clean thing to. Went back to 10.5 hotfix and all is good again. When working they actually seemed smoother than the 10.5.

Oh well. Really doubting my decision to go ATI, after 10.4 it's been nothing but driver issues.

As we all know its the combination of both sets of tests. IBT/ LinX etc followed by Prime 95 that gives a very good indication of stability. As I have said before I have had OC's that passed 10 runs on IBT at max and then failed Prime95 in minutes!

I've not had any issues with any games with these, other then Valve games having the same disturbing FPS drop after 2+ hours of consistent play

This man speaks the truth, this supposed 10.8 beta driver is the same you can download on the site above.

I think you guys just wanna stick with the 10.7 whql, this driver is not for gaming: http://fireuser.com/blog/ati_firepr...ming_soon_with_20_80_performance_gains_acros/

If the system is fine on 10.5a then why is suddenly deemed unstable if 10.7 are installed for e.g, that doesn't make sense. It is obviously an ATi driver fault, I get c2ds in BC2 with all of the driver after 10.5a, a clear indication that it is NOT my system.

Edit: You do realize that C2D for BC2 is happening regardless of video card? If you are having that problem you need to removed the BC2 folder from My Documents. Then start the game.
Humor me: Run the Windows Experience Index. When done, reboot and see how BC2 runs.

Glad I'm not the only one having these issues. Game will play for hours on 10.5a

So then why is it that when suddenly drivers change and then the game stops working the way it should?

Also another thing I noticed in different game. Trackmania Nations Forever, on 10.5a and lower, the globe spinning in the background will have accurate topography but when 10.6+ is installed it gets all distorted and there are mountains all over the place.

I haven't had any problems with these drivers and CFX. They work fine for me. Dirt 2 w/ tesselation, Heave 2.1 w/ tesselation, BC2 is fine, Starcraft is great. So yeah...
