Quote for truth
Those that swear by this set:
Have you compared DX10/10.1 effects from the 10.2 and the 10.3 driver sets? Because I am noticing a visual difference myself (being 10.3 is downtoned a lot), which is why the speed is faster. You won't notice it in every game, but I have been able to tell a difference in quite a few titles.
Just looking at the ground for example, the 10.3's appear to be using DX9 effects regardless of what is enabled. With the 10.2's, things look as they should.
It may just be me, but I have read through both threads and seen similar comments from others.
That being said, I still have the 10.3's installed regardless because of the small fixes here and there. I don't want to come across like I'm downing them, just making an observation...I may do some screenie comparisons tomorrow for the sake of showing visually what I'm talking about.
Anyone can tell me if some 3D stereoscopic option has been put in this release?
So does it give a little performance increase over 10.2 with the 5000 series in Vantage?
Thats not just him. i got the crashes aswell TBH with these drivers.
you have to keep in mind that people have different setups, you have a 5 series card, others have a 4 series. situations arent no way near the same, so you cant really say thats just him.
Its always so easy to blame some one when he got some problem , or even call it a user failure. to me thats just trolling
Im quite happy with the 10.2 hotfix though, but they still need to fix CF flickering on those.
A little big increase
That's why I said on my original thread to keep in mind this set is 5k series optimized, and many 4k series users has problems with it.
You need to provide comparison shots. You are the only person on the internet making this claim so to be frank I don't believe you are correct.
so, for now, are they pretty stable?
recommending an upgrade from 10.2?
no issues here to date, very stable, didnt find any problem yet. Great performance improvement. I will try if I can notice these improvements with vantage.
I really expect these drivers to come up officialy with more improvements.
I still wonder (and got no response) if the Profle App only affects Crossfire games, or if it affects profiles for common users too
By now, only Crossfire users.
ATi said that there will be profiles for single cards.
Yes, depending on your configuration.
when final's expecting to be released?
More stable fps for me with this driver in BFBC 2, for me a keeper for sure.
Either this Wed (17th), or next (24th), but id say the 24th is the most likely, as Fermi's released 2 days later on the 26th, and you know how they both like to release drivers and cards around the same time as the others releasing something so...
I had 8.70.3 installed for a while and thought I would install these (8.71.3).
They have sorted out the slight stutter problem I had in BFBC2. It would stutter occasionally when using D3DOverrider, but now it still stutters but for nowhere near as much and when it does I hardly notice it at all.
Will the official 10.3's be based on these? Cause if not, and they are based on an older version, I will just stick with these.
10.3's will be the final version of this driver. Thus why the install package is named Catalyst 10.3 preview for this driver.
I know I can't wait for Official 10.3's, these drivers are so nice as it is.
why can you have a profile lanach a app but you can't have a app load a profile thats a bit backwards also there is no option to revert to a different profile when you exit said app
make this totally useless
ati let us down again .. :bang:
These are working very good for me =D.
