    no worries mate... :)

unfortunately thousands are suffering, the other tech sites im on all contain threads about 10.1 driver issues, these threads are huge!!!

im not out to bash ATI, god i wish i could just sing from the rooftops about how great the Evergreen range are..... but driver support prevents me from doing this..

oh..... & for anyone who's wondering 8.70 RC2 is better than official 10.1

for performance / compatibility / bugs

this information is based on ''statistics'' ive gathered myself from various sites.

I know they are the 10.1's

People are moaning becuse they are showing the Catalyst Version as 9.12 still, when they should be showing 10.1, so i was letting them know that ATi have updated them, so now if they download them, it will correctly show 10.1, or they can just download the CCC on its own if they want it to show 10.1 correctly.

    Well, you have 2 problems...

1st problem is that, according to your profile, you own a video card that has not been invented yet (maybe in 3 years or so the HD8xxx series will be here).

2nd problem... Don't ever install drivers that have been dumped out of a moth.

  7. its a 5870, an obvious typo :)

Why don't people use Dirt 2 benchmark instead of Vantage and 3Dmark06?

  10. theres no need to act like a dick. Just get on with it.

Cronik - yeah thats a pretty valid point. Vantage is a pretty accurate way of benching - as far as benching goes anyway. In real world gaming dirt 2 seems to be a pretty good indication of DX11 performance from what I've seen.

if u uninstall old version and clean all old ati entries (driver cleaner), the driver (even the "Old 10.1.") will show as 10.1.

Okay this is absolutely freaking BS.

I used drive sweeper restarted the pc a couple of times after using drive sweeper.

Uninstalled CCC and the other stuff first, then uninstalled my 10.1 hot drivers which are called 8.69.3 then ran drive sweeper again.

OKay restarted pc one more time and then installed 10.1 hotfix and CCC and everything in the package. Restarted and checked on CCC and it says 9.12 again. :bang:

The driver version is 8.69.3 which is the hotfix version.

Therefore someone is lying here about them updating the driver versions and stuff.

    omg, how many times....
hotfix drivers, beta drivers and RC drivers do not (usually) have a catalyst version included since they are for testing purposes only and not an official release

if you're that worried, about a version string, why not add it in the registry sheesh
here's what mine says atm. lol

    Thanks for exposing the mistake!
By the way, how to know that drivers have been dumped out of a moth?

The W7 x64 archive certainly is 'fixed', if by that you mean using a 10.1 version string for the CCC.

It might very well be that they didn't 'fix' the hotfix archive though.
