Laziness is the key word here.
No, in twitter the Catalyst guy said that they for got to change it to 10.1. Nothing is wrong with CCC.
This is what matters here, pay attention, pay close attention. What CCC reports as driver version is irrelevant as far as 9.11, 9.12, 10.1, 10.2 goes.
This is what f'ing matters.
2D Driver Version
Latest revisions are the newest, with the highest number. Comprende?
2 is newer that 1
101 is newer that 100
1001 is newer than 1000
See the progression?
8.14.10.0728 is newer than 18.104.22.1686 or 725.
Rocket science=no, common sense=yes.
It's really sad, 11 pages of posts that very few have the time or inclinitaion to read.
This thread should be closed, just my opinion though as it's going nowhere.
Quote for truth
So true that i need to quote it, so they may actually read it and understand why the hell CCC shows another CCC version....
I think an sticky post must be done explaining why this happen.
Alright enough calling ATI lazy because of a freaking number that doesn't do anything but look good.
People, let it go.
So what, info doesn't report show 10.1.
As posts have already said MANY times, The more important stuff are the driver versions, Direct 3D etc.
Any FPS improvements in Bad Company 2 with these?
Yes, 10,000 FPS improvement. Stay's crunchy, even in milk. A classic. Somebody kill me.
Well said and for those who wish to keep going on about it, im sure u'll find some rope at the hardware store and do all of us a favour
I had the same problem but with the 10.1 hotfix when I did a upgrade. To fix it on Win7 you need to wipe the drivers, uninstall .Net using the DotNet Cleaner. Then you need to mess around with registry/system files to give your self access to clean, the reinstall.. What a pain man, in the end I just had to reinstall Win7.
On clean install I got 10.1 hotfix working fine.
Thanks for you input. If your being sarcastic because maybe somebody posted it earlier, then excuse me for not reading hundreds of posts to find it out for myself. Otherwise I don't see any point to your post at all other then to make this thread EVEN MORE annoying to scour through for important things.
My Question again: Has anybody seen any sort of performance gains in Bad Company 2 with these drivers?
Yeah I heard 10,000 fps improvement
Oh please, let me do the work for you.:moon::flip2:
Is this driver worth at all installing for the 4800 series? Any benchmark performances? no synthetic benchmarks though....
Can any of the 5*** series crossfire guys confirm you have these issues:
Flickering shadows in GTA4.
Flickering flashbangs in MW2.
Flickering textures in Bad Company 2 Beta.
I'm going to supply driver feedback to ATI and direct them to this thread so if you all could provide decent info about any problems.
Thank you god I am not an "average user"
Edit did an installation and compared the two sets of information. The CCC on the left is 9.12 hotfix and the right is 10.1 but as you can see almost all the versions are ealier than 9.12 hotfix. I am reading it incorrectly? Or what?
By darrenj at 2010-01-30
darrenj: on the left it's not 9.12 hotfix (which is 8.682), it's some 10.1/10.2 RC..
JESUS thanx a bunch
So what do I do now then?
I gave 9.11 and 9.12 a miss and stuck with 9.10, then just installed 10.1 rc1 followed by the 10.1 hotfix.
Mass Effect 2 stills needs to be renamed to UT3.exe to gett AA working properly but everything else seems to work fine so far with very good performance.
stick with the ones that give u better gameplay and performance.
Flickering textures in Bad Company 2 Beta. With 10.1 + hotfix, yes.
