Finally they arrive. And I am very happy to see that ATI have included a Fear 2 crossfire profile so that I can really use the full power of my 4870x2.

fear 2 has now up to 160 - 400 fps for me ^^ seems to be rly 300% lol
start to loose my bad feeling about ati and get the hope was a good choice to use them and not 2 280 :)

Well I took the plunge with 9.2 after 9.1 giving me the fear, no crashes with fear2 so far and better performance also with source games. Not sure if English ambient temps are up, but ccc reports higher degrees with this driver set.

I'm comparing 9.2 with 8.12 though. Its not the 2D/3D bug either, these drivers are warmer for me, by about 5/6c.

9.2 is pretty bad for the non X2 4870's...
So yep, i'l continue sticking with my 8.12

    Hi
How are those drives when it come to FPS with 2 GPU like I have? I mean not a one 4870x2, but two 4870 in a crossfire

I have reverted to 8.12, not happy with the 5c c rise, plus the bug with a anti-cheat tool (DMW) is still there. DMW are talking with ati.

as far as i can tell these new 9.2 drivers are mad i was able to increase everything to max and still have a %50 increase up to 100fps in fear 2...

and my temps have stayed the same , no increase

but also i must say i have never had a problem with any ati drivers and ive been using them since 7.6 on my old 2600 pro!! i just reinstall windows and all everytime a new driver for ati or creative comes out, or a new mobo bios...

Reinstalling Windows every time you update a driver is lunacy!

+ 1 Let me add my vote. Yes I crash, in 2 of the MMO's I play, a lot with 9.1 & 9.2, but not at all with 8.10-12. Yep, I tried it with all three of the 8.xx and they had zero crashes. Time to make this a priority ATI.

I feel like the only guy who has no problems with these 9.2's. They fixed my FEAR2 problems and everything runs smoothly for me on Vista32. I did have to use Driver Sweeper to get the 9.2 installed properly, but no big deal.

I have no issues, aside from the issues with 2D/3D clock speeds on the 2nd GPU.

So far the only issue I've encountered is if trying to run Crysis Warhead from the DX10 64 bit Shortcut with the -DEVMODE applied the game will hang while loading. Remove the feature from the command line and it runs fine.

    Gaming at 1680x1050
Call of Duty W@W MP 4xAA\maxed settings: 50-90 fps
    Fear 2 4xAA\maxed settings: 35-90 fps
Crysis Warhead DX10 64 bit 2xAA\Enthusiast and Gamer settings: 30-60 fps

If I run Call of Duty W@W MP at 2xAA the frame rate runs pretty steady 65-90 fps.

This driver REFIXED my problem (stutter, freezing) in FALLOUT 3 and STALKER games. with 9.1 , problem re occurred but not this fixed it again.

9.2 has increased reliability in my system. I disable Catalyst AI, and everything works really well. No "display driver has stopped responding" messages in Guild Wars.

Furmark is fubar'ed though. The screen just flashes with this driver on my 3850

Allthough they still haven't fixed the CoD:W@W puddles, I'm staying a loyal red-team member for a while longer. I like this driver, it's nice in Windows 7 x64.

    Seem ok for me too!
Burnout Paradise is not as silky as it was though for the 9.1's, the framerate can stutter! might try setting box AA instead of edge detect @ 4x, SSOA is turned on!
    Not tried FEAR 2 yet!
Left4Dead now averages 160fps all maxed out 4x AA (edge) max textures etc all in glorious HD! (1920x1200) :nerd:
    Happy gaming!
