+ 300% gain in F.E.A.R 2 ? Seems quite high, but hopefully it does will increase performance that much... and fix crashes with 4870X2

The crash for me was only in 9.1. 8.12 worked fine and so far 9.2 seems to be fine as well.

What kind of crashes did you see in FEAR 2 with the X2?

Yes, but whad kind of crashes were you seeing? Crash to desktop? Hard-lock? BSOD?

I've had crashes too. It would crash to desktop with a "fear.exe has stopped responding" message.

Sehr gut. I haven't tried the game yet with the 9.2's, but I suspected something else was wrong since I've had the same type of crashes with GTA IV lately.

If true, that is a MASSIVe increase in performance for FEAR2. Even though it is running like a dream anyway!

You should get the same increase by simply renaming the .exe to a Crossfire compatible one. Fear.exe works.

That's exactly the same error as I had (Fault Module Name: atiumdag.dll). Well, that's good news then! Hopefully it's fixed with this set.

Edit: has anyone had similar crashes in GTA 4? I have and they started after I installed the 9.1's. I never really thought about it as I haven't had the time to play it recently, but the game definitely worked fine on the 8.12's. Could the "4800 multi GPU stability fix" that's listed in the release notes for the 9.2's have something to do with it, perhaps?

Hmmm, I still got the same crash when I disabled Cataylist AI, never had the crash when I reverted to 8.12. Still a little scared to try 9.2 though :pc1:

Another glitch I had with 9.1 was with an anti-cheat tool called DMW when playing mohaa AA. The dmw logo on the bottom of my screen looked garbled, almost like japanese writing. I contacted dmw and they said this was an issue that ATI needed to sort out.

I'll try 9.2 over the weekend and see what happens.

Same here and the %300 performance increase is true for me. I was getting 60 fps with 9.1 when crossfire enabled (without crossfire 80-90 fps), after 9.2 140-190 fps.

My 4850 was only getting 60 fps in a HL2 mod (80 when I turned off the flashlight, so I know it wasnt capped due to vertical sync) with 9.1 drivers on win7, with 9.2 on the same system it now gets 250-300 with my flashlight on in the same areas.......which is nearly a 400% increase, but I think I had a bad install with 9.1 because I could not install 9.2 until I completely uninstalled (no driver sweeper used) 9.1......it kept locking up the 9.2 installer when I tried to install over 9.1

You've tried GTA4 too? And you had crash to desktop errors before? Great news! Perhaps I can change back my specs now :p

Edit: after googling atiumdag.dll CTD I found out that this is actually a known problem with the 9.1 drivers and the 4870 X2. So I've endured a month of problems because of this crap. Blah. Never even thought of reverting back to the 8.12's because I thought something else in my system was causing the instability, as I've had a bunch of other problems lately. I figured out that problem as well today, so it's been a mighty productive weekend so far!

Just updated to 9.2 and yes FEAR 2 is getting 180 to 200 FPS which is just insane, the only problem is that the god damn 2d/3d bug is back for is 4870X2 owners, I hope they patch this asap.

Off to test more games ;-)
