Edit: AM3 looks better, more to follow.

Edit: 3dmark01 is OK but I've done better.

Edit 3dmark03 is about the same.

hey i can only find the direct download link for MOBILITY for the CCC version.. anyone know how to get to the CP version? (ps. doing it through the ati support centre doesnt work because my laptop is Acer, and its not supported even though the drivers all work fine, and their detection software says it wont let me download) :(

    anyone know where?

Can I download only the driver and use Ati Tray Tools for configuring?

Yay for HTT performance BTW. :D

The control panel isnt working for me with this version. when i click to open it all i get is the little splash screen and it just stays like that. I have used the uninstall tool by ati, and i have used driver cleaner. I do have .net 2.0.
the control panel worked fine on 5.11.

I had to uninstall .net 2.0 and install .net 1.1 to get 5.12 to display the CCC

Which is weird, since the improvements reported are only for Dual-Core and HiperThreading processors.

.net 2.0 isn't backwards compatible apparently so if you uninstalled 1.1 when you installed 2.0 then having to install 1.1 again would make sense. I have 2.0 and 1.1 installed and have no probs with 5.12. Maybe you could install 2.0 again if you want to use 2.0 things. Why the hell 2.0 isn't backwards compatible is a wonder. I suppose Microsoft want it lean and people to just start using 2.0. Maybe Catalyst 6.1 will be in .net 2.0

Is their a reason my control center won't open it gets stuck on the splash screen. Any idea's?

  13. I like these, Quake 4 runs like a charm no crashing to desktop now, good job and Hilbert did good with getting these out. Thank You.

each drivers works different of different system despite the improvment that meant for Dual-Core and HTT i'm sure most of you will find that even on single Pentium 4 CPU or AMD CPU it will improve overall game perforamnce, it seems like ATI is getting better with each day

    Great set of drivers.
3d mark 05 gave me 9003 with these drivers which is roughly 700 points more!
games look great and running very smoothly.
Had to uninstall .net 2.0 and install .net 1.1 to get the ccc working though.

i installed them yesterday and tried only in NFSMU and saw about 3fps increase. Good set, last increase for me was 5.6 and than it was the same.
it lookms like the next good drivers after a long time.

    Odd

Anyone get this message before? And then I'll explain what I did.

"You do not have permission to change CATALYST Control Center settings. Please contact your administrator for further help.

I got this with 5.8, 5.11, 5.12. Even with Omega, and DNA drivers. The 5.2 CP drivers that came with the video card didn't give me any trouble, but with updating... boy.

    I have an ATi Radeon x700 Pro AGP 8x 256 DDR3.

I have most of window's services disabled, there is no windows log in or secondary accounts, I did this because I heard it increases performance, not by much, but it's suppose to by freeing up resources.
