I see references to Mjolnir allt he time.

Now, I have been away from the driver game a while and don't really know what people are talking about when they say Mjolnir (Except Thors hammer, of course, Mjölnir =))

Are these preview drivers the mjolnir program or some such?

I have seen it mentioned to but no one cares to answer your questions about what the hell it is. Looking it up on google comes up with multiple things that have little meaning.

Also still no answer to the multiple questions above about DO WE NEED TO INSTALL A CAP OR NOT WITH THIS DRIVER or JUST USE THE 11.3 ONE? :)

Well the problems are still there for me if i try to start FF which in installed on the Raid & not in Windows C:

    11.3 drivers are fine.

from what I have gathered project mjolnir is a 3 part program designed to utilize the full power of these new cards although Im pretty sure it will bring improvements accross the board, all 11.4 releases to date are part of mjolnir 1 and have improved performance noticably accross the range. so I take it 11.5 will be mjolnir 2 and so on but cantbe sure.

I hear things good about 2.4 stream aswell, they say 2.4 is just as good if not better than cuda, meh dunno for sure what they mean by that. Read it from an opencl article in customPC.

heres a bit of info from an amd email

Project Mjölnir is a multidimensional effort aimed at increasing performance and providing improved stability of the AMD Catalyst software.

The AMD Catalyst 11.4 early preview, code named Mjölnir I, already available to the public (link) with Mjölnir II and III to be available in the months to come. This driver encompasses major improvements for the entire AMD Radeon HD 6800 and 6900 Series. Users should see a boost, particularly with anti-aliasing and large resolutions in numerous titles:
•Up to 70% performance improvement in Civilization V
•Up to 49% performance improvement in Call of Duty: Black Ops
    •Up to 23% performance improvement in F1 2010
•Up to 21% performance improvement in Wolfenstein MP
    •Up to 15% performance improvement in Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X
•Up to 17% performance improvement in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
    •Up to 28% performance improvement in Metro2033
•Up to 33% performance improvement in Left 4 Dead 2
•Up to 26% performance improvement in FarCry 2
•Up to 15% performance improvement in Crysis Warhead
•Up to 50% performance improvement in Unigine Heaven
•Up to 22% performance improvement in Batman: Arkham Asylum
•Up to 19% performance improvement in Aliens vs. Predator

But the goodness does not stop with this release. Mjölnir I is only the first in a series of drivers we intend to release this year, all of which should provide big performance boosts.

Lastly some better info regarding this set.

    not happy

Well that was from 10.5 release notes But i never had that issue when i installed them or any other driver.

But i get that problem when i use 11.4.

When i get time later i will be going through all the release notes to see what issues for some now were also issues for some in the past.

From my understanding Mjölnir I started with the 11.4_March7 driver release. The others were not Mjolnir I. In any case, for future reference if you want to know if a set of drivers are different (as this case we've seen at least 4 driver releases in 1 month) check the .dlls date/time etc and compare it with you own from found in windows/system32/ATI.*

Ye seems the 5000 series also have improved, good too see but still it seems all the focus is going to the 6000 series the 5000 is just picking the ride.

After using Firefox a bit more since I did my post, it seems the Firefox issue is still there, its just very noticeably not as bad!

Is it only me or there is no MLAA in 11.4 preview?
I just gave 11.4 another chance and upgraded from 11.2 and MLAA checkbox disappeared.
I have all that AMD Vision and Hydra Vision crap, but the actually useful stuff is missing.
