    Oh lord, yes, especially with the number of games I play across five formats. If I put a game down for a week then play something then I usually struggle to remember the controls. So you're not alone. It is probably a good idea to finish a game first before moving onto to another one!

    So as someone who really enjoyed the first Lords of Shadow, is this game just as good? Are all the complaints about the modern parts of the game, stealth sections, boring environments etc etc justified?

    Read my earlier post because I pretty much covered all of those things. I personally think that the game is every bit as enjoyable as the original if not more so, thanks to the full camera control and realtime cutscenes. The story is a load of bull to be honest and just there to send you from one area to another. The stealth in the five hours I've been playing is minimal and brief but does feel out of place in an action game such as this.

    Game is beautiful and fun, I don't understand the low scores.

    I'm biased since I love the Castlevania series so much, but I prefer this canon to the old.

    SweetFX isn't working on this title under Win8.1, it gives me black screen.

    Much like the previous games there are a number of interesting commands but also much like the previous game they are all disabled as is the command console that I've found quite a few references to.

    Possibly with clever use of Cheat-Engine or someone with skills to create a trainer program could find a way to force these to actually take effect. :)

    EDIT:

    The config file this time is in plain text and is located here:
    C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Documents\MercurySteam\Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2\YourGameProfileNumber\Game.cfg

    So for me using a keyboard I checked these:

    Kb = <begin> # User Control definition
    Walk.MainMenu.0 = ESCAPE
    Walk.DigitalLeft.0 = 1
    Walk.DigitalUp.0 = 2
    Walk.DigitalRight.0 = 3
    Walk.DigitalDown.0 = 4

    Used a hex editor on CLOS2.exe and searched for MainMenu twice.

    This gives the location with all commands listed but like I said I've found no way to toggle them.

    I add this to the file.

    Walk.FreeCamera.0 = 5
    Walk.ToolsMenu.0 = 6
    Walk.SwitchFPS.0 = 7
    Walk.OpenConsole.0 = 9
    Walk.SwitchView.0 = 8 (This one is deleted when the game is started for some reason.)

    But pressing the relevant key does nothing, they're disabled.
    (Much like in Thief with it's cheat-manager menu and trying to toggle console commands via key bindings.)

    EDIT: Or you can search for "GodMode" via hex editor and the first hit should take you right to the various console commands, complete with text descriptions.

    (That's pretty much all I can do though, I can't create the code or programs to say enable the dev menu as with Deus Ex Human Revolution or the advanced Cheat-Engine scripting needed to forcefully override commands in say UE3 games to get timestop or freecam working.)

    EDIT: Searching for "safemode" will also display the one and only (That I know of.) command line parameter. (Which is just -safemode to delete game.cfg and thus reset settings to default auto-detect.)

    No references to any form of command to hide the UI unless it has some special name, RenderMinimap exists and I tampered with it (GenderMinimap) but it didn't just break the function it also causes the game to not start, possibly a form of protection against (amateurish) reverse-engineering.
    (Or maybe that function was actually important.)

    EDIT: TexMod didn't work either, I believe this is still using D3D9 but it might be DirectX9Ex instead of the older DirectX9C, I don't think TexMod supports the newer one but I don't know for sure.
