    Hi guys

I have an asus fx5700. if i install the old v56.00 drivers i can overclock no problem. If i install anything later that this (forceware) i can set the overclock as usual via coolbits, and it seems to take ok (i do the test). I reboot. but my FPS take a huge nosedive, as if its underclocked by a massive ammount.

    am i doing something wrong.
I've even installed the manufacturers own drivers and used the smartdoc software to overclock, and same thing happens. (smartdoc works fine with the v56).

    any help appreciated

This is a known issue with the asus cards ('fx serie...)

with 56.xx drivers its all ok... anything higher and its booom down 100% ...

funny thing is... when you go to the asus download site and select your card type... they have a 6x.xx driver and the smartdoctor 4.xx... but neither one is working with the card...
    typical

    regards

    also a frustrated asus owner...

damn! And i have a few new games which dont work right with the older driver :(

looks like i'll have to stick with default clock-speeds...

    thanks Sloeri

    ZArker,
one solution though.... you can edit the bios so that your card is overclocked by default on system boot... doesn't need driver interference then...

    us at own riks though...

check on the ******* site for info on this...

Although asus provides high quality cards...they do not deliver high quality support...
