I'm trying to get dual displays working; 2x Sony G520 each connected to a DVI out, problem is only one works at a time.

    Any clues?

Found this..."The 6950 only has DVI-I on the top DVI connector. That means that only the top connector supports both DVI and VGA signals. The bottom is not DVI-I, so it will not work with VGA signals"

Not sure if its True though...

Both DVI ports work, just not at the same time...very strange....:3eyes:

According to the specification, the two DVI connectors on the card might look the same from the outside, but are actually quite different. The upper connector (near the HDMI) is a Dual-link DVI-I connector that supports digital and analog monitors (thus VGA with adapter). BUT the lower connector (near the vent) is actually a single-link DVI-D connector, that only supports digital displays. So your VGA monitor (even with the adapter) won't work, because it's still analog....

I had a similar problem with my AMD card, which I solved by buying a Displayport -> VGA adaptor, so having 1 monitor through that and one through one of the two DVI ports. Might be worth a try, they are quite pricey for an adaptor though (mine was about £20).

I read recently that both AMD and Nvidia are planning on entirely phasing out VGA support by 2015.

As others have said the bottom DVI port will not work for VGA also you can't use the bottom DVI and the HDMI port at the same time.

I can by a displayport to DVI adapter for $60 so I guess that's what I'll do. Thanks for replies.

So both monitors are using DVI not DVI to VGA? Sorry about the confusion.
