Should I cancel my PNY GTX 295 order and buy an EVGA GTX 295? PNY grand total - $503 EVGA grand total - $520 I already bought the EVGA back plate which can be used on other GTX 295s. It just feels weird not having an EVGA card. Or having a PNY card with an EVGA back plate. PNY - 3 years warranty EVGA - lifetime Im buying a $500 video card. If it breaks after 3 years and the warranty is over, I am going to be so sad. But PNY gives an additional 2 years warranty upon registering. But the problem is, I STILL DONT HAVE AN EVGA CARD. Ive heard some sad sad things about PNY.
This is my first EVGA after 2 BFG's, that are still working flawlessly, but I'm not too impressed as I am getting freezes and lockups.....maybe its just the drivers....
does anyone keep a video card for more than 3 years these days? In 3 years, its going to be worth $25
pay the extra for the eVGA. you get what you pay for. step up program, volt modding and oc support, lifetime warranty... i owned an evga and it was a great card. i had a PNY 6600 AGP that died in a few weeks and wouldnt oc 5mhz. i returned it and got a BFG that did nearly 100+Mhz. For nV cards I recommend eVGA or BFG.
Out of nowhere the PNY card that I ordered while in stock, just went out of stock. I chose to cancel instead of wait for new shipments. Now should I wait until early next week to get very cheap GTX 295 Plus or should I buy a more expensive GTX 295 (standard) one now? Can anyone tell me if all the EVGA GTX 295s come with the back plate installed?
But I am buying an EVGA GTX 295 Plus according to the seller. He did say that it doesnt come with the back plate. Im not sure if all Plus editions come with a back plate. Regardless its $490 shipped.
Get the evga. They offer a pretty much unconditional guarantee. They will replace it even if you physically break it. Pny is not bad, but it is not evga. The best support hands down.
I have PNY and Im not regretting of having it. In America the brand may not be big and popular. When I was in Japan and Taiwan, PNY is one of the popular company thats most recommanded by hardcore pc users. I understand EVGA and BFG have those 90 days step up program which it only works for 90 Days of received and having the card secured. You have the mail or fax them the receipt and the serial code on the back of the Card to them to be able to join their 90 Days step up program. I dont think that everyone only going to use their card for 90 days than return it or sell it. Physical damage they dont refund or exhance for it. They only change overclock defected card. So far I know PNY covers everything for 3 years, Overclock Damage and Physical damage they will cover it. I been through like five PNY 8800GTX and got it all refund. All of the damage was my fault. I drop the card on the ground by accident because I was trying to take the card out of my case so I can clean it, than it slip out of my hand. PNY got my refund. Than I was starting to play Overclocking for the 1st time, haha me and my buddy burn the card 4 times and I still got my refund. Not only that PNY replies you very very fast with customer service and I got my refund within the week. instead of 2, 3 weeks of waiting time. Im Very happy with this company. Is your call!
