I don't mean he'll have to upgrade for the 4870. I mean his next upgrade after the 4870 will probably have to be a PSU.
GET AT LEAST 850wt! TRUST ME ON THIS! you guys are forgetting that there is other thing running on your PC!? I mean WTH its not like the GPU is the only thing that is Hooked up to the PSU! Im sure you guys have a bunch of other things pluged in right? so take all that into consideration.!k.
Peezee it actually says 500w on their website.. Maybe you were looking at the HD4850? In any case, your power supply will likely work fine. Two HD 3850 is nowhere near a HD 4870 when it comes to power. He needs atleast 650W-700W or maybe more for future use.
But I'm not talking about future use... I don't intend to upgrade every other day, I just might wanna get a HD4870 if my PSU can take it, and if it can't, I'll just not upgrade at all...

It has 35A combined in 12V rail so it should be enough. The quality is not that good though. For example my PSU is also 550W but it has 41A on 12V rail.
I'd spend a little more if I were you as Anarion suggested as well and go for something like this quality built Corsair with a true 41A +12V rail. Zipzoomfly has the best price I could find. easily ur PSU can delivery 384W on 12 rails, and ur system(after upgrade) need no more than 280W max, in stress, when all devices working. More details - look at power calc, take similiar/even parts at link u can use google translate, if it helps, language is polish
As Greg said it should work just fine providing it's good quality. According to this you have a dual-rail with 20A on each rail and provides 396W.
