Since I never had any kind of problems with 314.22 drivers, can I use them on Windows 8.1 RTM? Last time I tried them Windows 8.1 installed back v326.41.

I'm using the latest beta for 8.1 RTM without any issues.

I'm using that one too, but I've got a couple of TDR and BSOD.

It has been released for Technet and MSDN subscribers. For the rest of the public it will be October 18.

Thinking of making the plunge into W8, if I brought a W8 retail license now (x64 obviously) would I get 8.1 for free or are they charging for it again? I'm not sure with how many 180's Microsoft have done lately. I heard they were charging for it then I heard they were giving it away for free to current W8 users?

    So... what about 314.22?
Nvidia's drivers are the only reason I can't upgrade to 8.1, because all drivers after 314.22 make my system freeze.

    That sucks.

Just go with 326.80, running 8.1 RTM here and everything's working perfectly.

EDIT: I don't understand how anything above 314.22 would cause your system to hang... that sucks, have you contacted NVIDIA support?

    It's a known problem, especially with 560Ti's.
ManuelG talked about it on multiple occasions and there's a dedicated thread on the geforce.com forums (https://forums.geforce.com/default/...xx-display-driver-stability-feedback-thread-/).

Next branch should finally have some fixes regarding this issue.

I just went back to Windows 8. I need stability more than new features. I just don't understand why NVIDIA doesn't use 314.22 as a base and improve from there. Those are almost flawless but Windows 8.1 won't take them, always overwrite them with newer sh1tty version.
