    I see then, thanks.
But I just don't understand why it's so hard to get that on PC audio.
With them going to a type of ray traced audio next gen I wonder what hoops we have to jump through to get that level of audio fidelity on PC?

While talking audio, I'm using a Sound Blaster Z and couldn't be happier. I use the Logitech G Pro ( stereo version ) headset with it and its just pure bliss. I think every PC gamer should have a sound card installed over mobo integrated sound but that's just me. I've never had a top of the line mobo so don't know what the sound chips on those are like but all the ones I have had have been sh*t when I've tried them. In CoD MW, lets just say when someone drops a cluster strike on you it sounds like the frikkin Ragnarök is upon you... not that I know what that would be like but I reckon that's what it'll sound like.

You just need to change the EQ of your soundcard/soundchip. If your MB chip has no EQ, then go get a real soundcard.

I'm like you, i love punch in gunshots and explosions. I set my Xonar Essence STX II 7.1 EQ to:
    30hz +8db
    60hz +3db
2K -4db (this is the pain frequency which gives you ear screeching sounds if too loud)
    8K +3db
    16K +6db

I would have thought the developers have shader validation sorted but seeing how Red Dead Redemption 2 had issues around it and Horizon Zero Dawn having problems of a similar nature I suppose there are still some exceptions.
The games been out for a while now surely AMD and NVIDIA could have discussed with the developers and gotten this resolved after NVIDIA and AMD has gotten how many reports on this game being crash prone, glitching, displaying artifacts and more.

EDIT: Wonder if driver wise even if going against API best practices there's a way to just invalidate older shader data.

Would take care of the problem in one way if the developers do not resolve it.

Would think it's the main pipeline file at least but yeah now that you mention it the profile folder Call of Duty uses has differed a bit in everything that it adds in this from the base config file to level cache data and now with Vulkan and D3D12 there's this way of caching compiled shaders but it could be more than just that.

Driver shader cache shouldn't be an issue nor should the OS D3D cache if it's D3D12 and not Vulkan but I'll have to search and see if there's some ongoing issue here.
API's been out for years now some of these issues should be routine there's been additions over time but this is one of the base things.

Well it still took one or two updates for Red Dead 2 and I think the third or fourth update for Horizon so clearly there's still some issues with it.
And then Call of Duty here with just so many different problem reports.
(EDIT: Not all of it's shader data though the game might just be very hardware sensitive plus third party programs and how that hooks into the process too.)

EDIT: Oh they have a in-game option for clearing and redoing the process, well it's something but it does also need the game to be able to start up.

I had a crash after ending a game and exiting to desktop.
Other than that, was working good.
    Not on my PC, but on a Ryzen 5 2600 + 1050ti 456.55

no, the stuff in the "main" directory is just some cache data.

Man I had to ragequit last night in MP, the new season of course brought back all the sweatty tryhards who are jacked up on energy drinks and they were pulling off shots left and right to which I just couldn't react so I said f**k it! and closed the game. I usually sit comfortably at the top 3 so I might have been having an off night too. Gonna take a break for a few nights and check back when the initial excitement has worn off a bit.
