If Forceware 331.70 beta and Catalyst 13.11 beta 9 are only available to reviewers, it's possible the released 331.70 (or whatever) and Catalyst 13.11 beta 9 may be updated even further... you could only confirm this with a file-by-file comparison once they become available.

Now I have a question, why 1600x1200? That's a 4:3 resolution found on CRTs mostly. 1680x1050 or 1600x900 are more prevalent. Even 1920x1200 isn't as common as 1920x1080. This isn't a gripe, I'm just curious.

People who look primarily for a gaming monitor will most likely buy a x1200 over a 1080p, as an example. And this is a game performace article after all. But yeah i hear you, it´s a bit odd since most people, same example, are running 1080p monitors.

I totally agree, I always roll my eyes when I see 1920*1200, it must be a European thing, considering this site never quotes US dollar prices... Zzz

Actually Hilbert quotes US dollars prices when he has the info.

High res textures don't make up for the fact that it's still the same old statically lighted CoD engine where only some NPCs have one blocky shadow and that's only if you're close enough! These minimum requirements don't justify the graphics at all.

this game claims DX11 but i somehow cant see any tessellation or moving 3d water effects not even physx

is that because engine is using fake pre-rendered bump-mapping?

I don't think the visuals warrant those performance numbers..

This and the combination of total absence of proper lighting and shadows just makes the game look like an HD version of an old game some times. I mean this, this shot is taken at the highest possible graphics settings:

It just looks like the HD version of older CoDs. The objects are just placed in the world, there is one light source and here the NPCs don't even cast shadows. Everything else in the level is pre-rendered.

It needs a serious patch to fix this, I am seriously thinking of asking Valve for a refund on this game its that bad.

Multiplayer I have it maxed out 1080p with FXAA only thing I turned off was Terrain Detail. Most the time every map is locked at 91fps but then other times like just know I enter a game and literally the performance is insane. Every turn with the mouse it skips about five frames and jumps all over the place. Running around is a nightmare, and everyone in the match was complaining about how badly it ran.

Does anyone know how you go about getting a refund is it from Valve or Activation? I know its probably like fighting a loosing battle trying to get a refund but at least I can try.

Next gen is here and next gen consoles are damn near similar to PC now, and this is the kind of port we still get? Sad Sad days are still to come i guess :puke2:

Holy krabby patties this game performs bad. And looks like poo. BO2 looks better to be honest, treyarch at least puts some time into the pc port.

Actually Black Ops II is a really visually beautiful game sometimes, and it runs well even on cheap hardware. What the hell happened to this one?
