Hopefully the ISP change will cure your problems. Have you looked at your router settings at all ?
Yes, but what apart from NAT settings could be interesting there?
The connection itself is stable, the first round (or any round of TDM, KC or so) is perfectly fine.
I don’t see how this would be an issue to be solved by the router.
Actually, I’m not tech-savvy enough to see how one round or game mode can be fine, network-wise, while the next gives trouble.
The easiest solution would be something energy related, but that’s all turned off, and I'd also suspect that if it were something like that, the issue should also have a time component.
You never know, it could be something totally daft, I for example like to assign static IP addresses to all my devices but if I do that, my phone goes nuts and starts randomly DC'ing from the WiFi so I have to stick to dynamic IP's. You could try disabling the built-in firewall if your router has one and just rely on the windows firewall, or the other way around if you haven't tried that yet or uninstall a third party firewall program if you happen to be running one.
You could make sure that your ingame language matches your OS language so if the game is in English, change windows to English as well, why would this matter ? It shouldn't but again, you never know. Another example from when I bought my soundcard, the sound blaster Pro Studio control panel refused to launch so after an hour of trouble shooting, re-installing and googling I discovered that my colour space was set to something slightly different than the windows default and the control panel software didn't like that at all. I set my colour space to the windows default and all was well.
I'm assuming you're on a wired connection, if you're on WiFi then consider going wired if at all possible. You could also try matching the ingame and menu fps or alternatively set your menu fps lower or half of what your fps cap in the game is set at. You wouldn't believe how even the dumbest thing that you can't think of can cause an issue such as yours. It could be a dodgy NIC driver too, is the firmware of your router up to date or is the router known to suffer from these sort of issues ? It could be a case of you having manually updated your NIC driver but the process left a file behind that might cause a conflict of some sort that for some obscure reason only rears its ugly face with CoD.
I still think its an ISP issue but with these sort of things my personal approach is the process of elimination where I basically make sure I've tried absolutely everything before I throw in the towel. What often makes these issues worse is that your other games probably work just fine so there's no real reason for game X to give you grief. Its also totally possible its an issue with the game but I've tried googling your problem in a few different ways and so far I haven't really come across much aside for a thread on the official forums where people complained about DC's but that seemed more about random DC's whereas yours is strangely a very specific issue.
The above is just a collection of random ideas that may or may not help but the ultimate point again is that it really can be the the tiniest thing that sets off your issue, especially with the CoD engine which at this point is basically held together by bits of wire and some chewing gum in genuine MacGuyver style. Anyways do keep us posted, I for one like a good mystery to solve
BO4 is super sensitive to any changes in network. I put my computer in the DNZ open zone on my gateway, and BO4 would still mix from moderate to open NAT. Only way I could make it open completely is if I hard wired directly into my Gateway and not my router.
Thanks for all the input. I have a wire going directly from my PC to my router, which is also my modem.
I‘m only running the standard Windows Safety stuff, but I’ll see if I can turn that off.
I use a static IP due to the way my router‘s firewall works, but this way I get „open NAT“ all the time.
The NIC is Intel, I’ve had weird issues with Killer before but these are usually rather safe. I had updated the driver after running into the issue, maybe I should try a clean reinstall of it though.
When you go into settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking what does it give you for Latency, Server Connectivity and Nat Type?
did it ^ ^
Im fresh on W10 now so don't know with that, but on W7 there is that TCPOptimizer tool and their page has many articles and stuff, regarding all these settings and what they do, need to check it out myself, maybe you find something there.
searched it quick the site is speedguide.n et
Just had another success, my second match completed!
Short overview of what the game tells me:
I changed some settings on my router, mainly error correction stuff. Maybe that did something, at least it's another thing to check for sure.
From what I can tell, the game says I'm doing fine (network-wise )?
Treyarch is on a roll with this game with another patch released this week with a whole bunch of adjustments and additions.
2 main attractions of this patch are a new mode for Blackout and a new specialist designed to counter some killstreaks and specialist equipment.
Armour and audio rework for blackout also sounds interesting. New content is of course PS4 exclusive for 1 week so PC players should see the new stuff next week.
I can totally hold my own in regular MP, be it normal or hardcore but I cannot for the life of me crack this blackout mode! It's such a shame because I find it pretty cool but so far I've had like 10 kills in like 40 games which is fucking pathetic! I don't know what it is that makes me suck at this so badly, I'm still only just Echelon 5 and no matter what I try I just can't kill anyone.
I'm still determined to learn the ropes in this and I've made some minor progress in that I can survive if I play smart ( read: hide in the shitter of some farmhouse ) but I lose almost every single fight I get into. Maybe I'm just getting a bit dim as I'm growing older but this has thus far proved to be my steepest learning curve in gaming.
As an added insult, I thought I'd try a game of quads with randoms for a bit of a change from going solo, ended up in a team of 2 clan guys who teamkilled me for whatever reason and took my crap for their own gains... I don't even know what to say to that.
Probably one of the only 3 Gurus playing this game but hey, who cares! Finally starting to get to grips with Blackout a little bit, even managed to score some more kills so statistically its all going in the right direction albeit very slowly. I still thoroughly enjoy the game mode, especially the moments where you hear someone near you or in the same building and you wait to take your shot ( I usually lose those moments ). Just scored my first top 10 spot which isn't much but in my lousy existence its like winning the lottery.
Group modes continue to be an utter clusterfuck so I stick to solo most of the time, not a big deal personally as I think that's the ultimate BR experience but there is one new thing that has begun to bug me and that's weapon inconsistency. I just did a round where I got fairly lucky with loot and ended up with an SDM sniper rifle and a pretty well decked out Titan. Now I know the Titan has received some nerfs in regular MP at least but I found myself in a situation where I had a fairly easy kill on my sights at sort of medium/long range so I opted to use my Titan, pumped almost what felt like 3/4 of a mag to this prick with a lot of the shots landing on target, only for him to mow me down with an ABR in 2 bursts from the same range! I had a level 2 body armour almost at max too and I was firing crouched for a bit more accuracy and not running and gunning. Maybe I'm misguided but in my head an LMG, even with its recoil should be able to dish out enough damage in a situation like that but guess not!
Oh well, more practice and tomorrow reading and studying weapon balance.
Incidentally the new update is now live on PC too, with the Absolute Zero mission Black Market grind out for all. Level up to the first tier to unlock the new specialist for multiplayer and her appearance for Blackout. Lots of visual goodies to unlock with the addition of a new SMG upon reaching level 50 which should be totally doable for even the most casual of players.
If you know who you're playing with or get a good group that communicates, squads are pretty fun. Solo typically I land in nuke town island and try my luck, usually I get pretty lucky.
I still play sometimes, but not as much anymore.
Now that I solved my issues, I’m consistently searching for time... it’s getting too close to Christmas so there’s all kinds of other things that need to be done first
Still, I really like this game. Is there anything like a proper overview of all the gear, perks and stuff in numbers?
That's what I'm sort of looking for too but haven't come across anything decent yet. That or I'm just using the wrong search phrases.
tested the grafix settings and perf a bit on custom match 5v5 (bots), didnt played online yet
max fps set to 66, on marocco map that looks to be the biggest and demanding, that one spawn from far behind with the overview seems to be a good spot to test, and its around 63 fps which is fine as a sort of worst case on 4k, textures high, most of the other stuff disabled, smaa is on
this is on stock cpu (i7 6700) not even turbo core is active and undervolted gpu (1080), chassis fans on silent etc.
so yeah it looks decent and runs alright
Someone on reddit has been doing some testing and made a chart with some weapon damage numbers.
This stuff isn't 100% accurate and its for Blackout only but does give us a rough idea for now at least.
bought this with some christmas money and have had nothing but truble trying to get a match esp in heist so decided to get a refund as it isnt doing it *Q* do i just open up a ticket with blizzard support and request my money back???
played bearly twenty minutes of the game and my refund was refused what a crock of sh*t
Sorry to hear that. battle.net has a crap refund policy in the sense that they basically haven't got one unlike Steam and Origin. Where do you live and what modes did you try ? On PC some of the modes do suffer from long queues purely because people aren't interested in them. Play the Core playlists and do Domination, Hardpoint, TDM or even Kill Confirmed and you should be able to get into a game pretty quickly most of the time. Hardcore is a bit tougher I find, especially at odd hours of the day like super early in the morning which is when I often play, being a morning person and all.
