Lol epic's a meme now. Neah, they're staying on bnet afaik. I don't think D2 will leave it, too much work to decouple bnet from it I'm sure.

While it's great to see Activision squirm, didn't Bungie get about 100 milion $ investment by NetEase from China? If so, I would be a bit cautious with the hype...

Now Blizzard needs to part, cuz they're getting wrecked by Activision.

The problems of Blizzard are of their own making. They have merged in 2007 and are pretty much one company by now.

Good news. Activision is cancer just like EA. Everything they touch turns into trash.

Hopefully Bungie parting will result in better games, but I doubt it. I mean it's not solely Activisons fault that their latest games flooped.

It's too late. Aside from Kaplan & Hazz all the decent devs of Blizzard are already gone and Kaplan seems like he might be out soon too.

The only thing that remains with that company is the name. The entire thing is already gutted and garbage.

Good news for Bungie, this might literally save them in the long run. Sadly for Blizzard, as posters above have already pointed out, it's way, way too late. Not only did all the key people leave, but the companies underwent a literal merge so there's no way to split now, because there's nothing left to split.

It's especially sad for me, because I was an active and super engaged WoW player at the time this thing happened and I knew from the very day that it was a BAD thing. Literally everything went down the drain afterwards and I sort of feel bad for the new generation, that never experienced what was actually worthy of the saying "Blizzard quality". Everything culminated with the last Blizzcon, after killing off Warcraft they moved on doing the same with Diablo, total disaster.

It's this very context why I have extremely low expectations for WoW Classic, which will likely end up as some weird hybrid game with a cash shop and be nothing like "vanilla".

Again though, good for Bungie, they were fortunate to be in a position where they could take this step. Most never get the chance, same thing for the ones that are under EA too.

How exactly do they intend to make this separation seamless? For example, Destiny 2 is on battle.net. How are they going to remove it from there without negatively impacting those who already own the game?

It's not being removed from Battle.net.

Activision, your time has come. You've been around since the C64 days. That's long enough.

Considering NetEase invested One Hundred Million Dollars into Bungie to develop a new video game it's highly likely that any future Bungie game will be Epic Store only.

    @emperorsfist already mentioned it...

Destiny2 is free to install, play, own etc on Battlenet.

I have never installed it - and I never will. That, is how important and relevant Activision is to me - and I do not think them having products on other stores will change that, ever.

I wonder what will happen to D2's support now? They must be busy on a sequel or a GaaS replacement (or both!) and money spent on D2 means money not available for D3's development especially without Acti's money. They're saying no disruptions right now but you can't take video game companies at their word.

I wonder if a 3 is even worth it ... it has brand value but it's a damaged brand. I'm not surprised Acti let it go. Would love to know more about that though.
