Bro what is the overall performance, eh ? And what is ur point ? People will spend $500 (cpu+mobo) for watching movie ? lol, u must be kidding me !!
This seems to be a hard concept for alot on this forum to understand. This is an enthusiast forum after all, so I guess it is understandable to an extent. I, personally, would have little issue with the performance of the FX processors if they didn't have such a high power draw. The processor, based on electrical specification, is not the only offender. Maybe if they could figure out where the power draw issue lies and correct that, we're be more willing to accept them and not advise against their use.
I think this thread needs a rest. The Bulldozer wont be improved for quite a while. And even then it won't be much better than the PII top enders. Bonob's test looks good. I wonder how my two 8800gtx's will work on that bench.
Can ANYBODY explain THIS to me? Why a 4M/4T has no influence or maybe light faster than 4M/8T, which is Bulldozer default setup?? Does Windows works so bad with different threads alocations? Also in the review below they stated a lot of downclock to 3.3 GHz during benchmark. An ASUS and Gigabyte mobo was used, actually their flagship. this one is as it should be: this one also as it should be: again better perfomance 4M/4T vs 4M/8T it looks that Aliens vs Predator is the best game that can scale on Bulldozer: here is the source, sorry is in german language but you may translate it if you want: http://www.planet3dnow.de/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=401023&garpg=9#content_start
