Intel or amd?
This computer is solely for photoshop and video editing nothing else
Use yourcurrent one and if you need more power overclock your cpu 2 2.4ghz should be no problem
I dont want to used my current one for video editing and phostop, its for games
I was thinking of getting this cpu, what you guys think?
Thats a great CPU it is as fast as hell it overclocks to about 2.5ghz at no problem. If u are prepared to spend that kind of money then it is great idea !!
Its for video editing... hes not going to try and OC it...
Seeing as its dual core, it will work well. I might caution you that Intel's Yonah cores will be better (Or it appears to be on paper) than it. Make sure to get dual channel ram, and a good quadro, theyre all things that you'll appreciate once you start doing intensive editing.
I just built a pc with that processor and im nothing but happy, its so fast...it runs circles around my p4 2.6ghz, seems more than twice as fast as it.
whats a good mobo?
I like my Asus A8N-SLI
if u do want to use intel then go for the dual core 3.2 btx version , will run cooler and they perform better than atx in latency wise and they do run quieter
edit: i put together a btx server , the ram gets cooled as well as the north bridge so it runs cooler about 5*c overall wich is pretty good but the fact is it is a little faster than my other server (same speed)
