hey guys, got this posted over in XS and Overclock.net and just thought I'd share it and get some more opinions!
If you have CONSTRUCTIVE critisicims please tell me! I can take it!

    on with the mod:

This is my first ever build and therefore first attempt at Modding, so advice would be greatly appreciated!

The components are as follows; Q9550 (E0), 4870×2, Asus P5Q-E, 4Gb Of GEIL, A Blu ray drive, 680w BFG PSU and 1Tb Of storage. Oh, and an X-Fi Elite.

Why Project Brusier you ask? Simple. The colour scheme will be black and blue, a Black Silverstone Temjin TJ07 With Window and blue watercooling liquid with blue fans, although I may replace these.

I Intend to mount two Radiators, there is one loop right now with a 4870×2 waterblock and a CPU waterblock, the second loop will have NB + MOSFET blocks and maybe more later on.

I Will Keep this blog as up-to-date as possible and as filled with awesomeness as possible!

The Mods I have done so far are
    • New Custom window with smoked acrylic
    • Lian-Li Bezel Mod
    • Replaced all stock fans
    • Custom Hard Drive caddy
    • Watercooling (DUH :D)

    Still to come are hopefully:
    • Powdercoated internals (should have done it first really...but oh well)
    • triple rad roof mod
    • custom TJ07 'Floor' (i.e cut holes in it)
    • Custom Faceplate.
    • Dual Loop
    • MurderMod Sleeving

so far, it looks like this:

please give me any and all comments! :

okay a couple of small updates (nothing major...yet)
I forgot about this one actually, I upgraded to a Q9550 a few days ago, from my e8400,
    heres the quad:

side by side (quad on left)

and also, I fitted the nexus memory coolers which I think look great, although i have lost some of the pimp factor that the dominator cooler had, and unfortunately, both dont fit.
what do you think? opinions please!

okay I wont be doing much for a while becuase of a few things, but i will still answer any questions or comments made :) this is becuase

    a) Still waiting on a few bits (WTF is that dremel?!!)
b)Replacing the fans (seemingly an easy task, but no...) which i would have done already to stop my ears bleeding becuase of the thermaltake crap i put in, requires i drain the whole system...
c)...and there is no point in that to have to put it back together, to then take it apart AGAIN to send it to the powdercoaters, and add the new loop (yay)

    Finally! A real Update!
still not got the powdercoated parts though :(
Been gathering some things ready for the weekend rebuild (I will have the powdercoated parts friday or saturday - so look out sunday for an update!)

first, whilst disassembling my system, I noticed this
    [IMG]
and discovered why thorough cleaning of parts beforehand is essential
anyways, installed a few black boxes to mount rads on, and to hide the ugly PCB. (ignore white sticky pads, cleaned them off later on)
got my 2 reservoirs and temp sensor (hopefully ill get another of these)
    murdermod sleeving
    [IMG]
    ATX24, ATX8, PCI-E 6+8 all individually sleeved (took me like 6 hours)
    tubing test fitted:
oh noes! kinked! (sorted it after ofc)
I also got a bit more acrylic than I thought too...may have some surplus :D
    ARGH! TOO MUCH!

thats all folks! tune in on sunday!

okay, here are how the pumps are mounted.
First, I got two XSPC DDC stands and put the pumps on them.

Then, I discovered that they needed modding to mount them vertically (look at the bases) dremel to the rescue!

then, I had a bright Idea. I used the USB/Firewire/Headphone bay device as a flat base. Then I drilled a few holes to secure the stands & pumps in place.

Voila! One Pump mount. fits really nice too :D
    [IMG]

still needs a hole for the tubing though  which is why there is some masking tape on there still.

    time for an update!
and its a good one, I promise ;)
I FINALLY have my PC back! I filled her up this weekend. still not finished though - its a little rushed becuase its half term (i.e a week off school) and I just had to have my pc for a week with no school or I would go INSANE.
so here is why it is a litle rushed in more detail:

After a long time figuring out where everything goes & connecting it up, I filled one loop. for 30 seconds. drip, drip drip. :(
turns out I forgot to put the O-ring back when I replaced the pump top (yes, I am an idiot). Anyway, sorted that after 2 hours cleaning and starting again. filled loop 1! (the GPU loop) yay!
started filling the second loop with deep purple...ahem...BLACK feser one.
filled it full, bled it, thought I'd leak test it for a while, and bam! 3 leaks. :(

all to do with F***ing O-rings. turns out whoever sent me my G3/8" to G1/4" reducers sent me the wrong size fupping o-rings. AND a barb on the res had a bust O-ring. FFS!
4 more hours later, much lost fluid, I finally have a working system with no leaks!

I will shut the hell up now so you can see the pics:
    before filling commenced:
okay so i forgot to get a hard drive to 5.25 bay thing so i improvised.
1 piece of packing foam and 4 long ass screws later (innuendo!)...voila! one ghetto hard drive mount!
    I love the sleeve...
    new keyboard!
full on shots...I havent finished, so dont give me **** about the cable tidying or the unsleeved wires, i'll finish that later.

    oh and BTW need advice.

smoked window acrylic, or no smoked window acrylic?
    comparison shots:

    smoked
    [IMG]
    unsmoked
    [IMG]

thats all for now folks! stay tuned for acrylic goodness in the near future, and much more besides!

    mini-contest!
design me a front panel! winner gets recognition on the front page of the project on every forum this is posted on & anywhere else this log gets (PLEASE custompc!)
    rules:
1."project bruiser" must be on it, any font you think looks good.
    2. blue acrylic will be behind it, so make the background blue.

heres my attempt. you can see why i want some added creativity from you guys!

    Micro-Update.
Got a little more coolant and some white Cathodes.
Result, as far as I can tell, is EPIC!
tried to take photos in the day & with the light on, but the colours looked wrong...:(
still, if you want some with light, ask!

Oh, and BTW, You might spot some dust/fingerprints/crap on the window, its a bugger to clean and thats the best I could do without removing the whole thing and giving it some kind of +1 clean that I am incapable of with my level one cleaning skillz. :(

anyways, enough with the talk! pictures incoming!

Looking fantastic mate. The white cold cathodes look good. Ive Just finished my build. Ive gone for the fesser black/blue with UV lights. I was thinking of getting small white LEDs to use as an alternative to the UV.

As mikemk said, glad to see another TJ07 used to its full potential.

With both white and UV cold cathodes, I'm thinking smoked acrylic looks a lot classier.

F**King nice i want it lol :) and i think you should frost bruiser on to the side window so it will glow with the colored light behind it just going from B-R upwards from the bottom right hand corner if you get what i mean you could do it with fine sandpaper on the inside of the window but would have to be verry patient when doing it

the smoked window idea is fantastic. Ive been thinking of what shade to do mine in. I dont want to blacken it out too much and hide whats inside but too light and its pointless.
