heres the article http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...12/31/gIQAHVyjRP_story.html?tid=pm_sports_pop i watched the match last night. it was bad lol. brock never stood a chance againt alistair overeem.
It was a total waste to watch it seriously. He should of stuck to wrestling where strengths lie. He way to out classed by the punchers.
well there are rumors of him going back to wwe. then i read about that announcement. it seems too coincidental too me.
Might sound crazy but I respect that he knows while he has some skill he's not improving any so he needs to retire. He is a great athlete but so are the other guys in the UFC.
I applaud what he managed to accomplish with no MMA experience. You can't forget the surgeries he has had to have, he nearly died twice. Without the surgeries I think he could have done a lot more in the sport, especially if he started a few years earlier. The guy wanted to be the best and never took an easy fight and you have to respect that. As for the WWE, he has openly said he hated working for them, but I could see him coming back in a casual capacity, I doubt his body can handle the bumps full time after all his problems. Overeem will dominate the HW division for awhile IMO.
Lesnar had exactly zero chances to come through that one, and he knew it. It was the 1st time I've cheered for the guy, because he was such an underdog Maybe if he started with the sport 10-15 years ago... Overeem is in his peek and he's favorite, but with Santos and Velasquez HW division looks better then ever. There's also Werdum, but I give him only slightly better chances then Mir and Carwin. The worst thing about Overeem, besides skills and physique is his gdamn confidence. He hasn't really been defeated since he became hulking big, not counting one or two K-1 defeats.
Vince has been wanting him back for years... but him losing this then going back to WWE makes it harder cause everyone knows he lost. Don't look for him to go back to WWE in the next year for this reason alone. Vince does need to do something with Ratings and with The Rock only dropping in from time to time after saying he was back is lame...fans are not stupid but yet WWE teases them with his music and recorded stuff to show all the time, I'd walk out if they did that to me while at a live show. Stone Cold needs to have more of a presence along with some more big stars - Road Dog was on a while back but since its pushed the PG rating so hard he can't do nothing and the chances of DX coming back have slipped bad.
lol good one. i can see overeem making an example out of dos santos and taking the title. theres change comming to the heavyweight division in ufc, thats for sure.
He is quite skilled, and obviously powerful, but he clearly has a very low pain threshold, so every single time he gets hit that all goes out the window and he goes foetal, so this is best for him. Overeem v JDS will obviously be a lot more interesting, could go either way, but I think Dos Santos will take it, well if he can keep out the way of Overeem’s legs anyway.
