Well, to tell you the truth, we actually want him alive. He could have a wealth of intelligence information. We might be able to follow the source of the planning and finance. Catching him dead or alive really doesnt matter, while it will cost money to prosecute him, it will also save lives if we can get intel on upper level people and disrupt any further attacks.

I would say the government may claim eventually that no one else was involved, but in reality its a lie while they search for more.

 

yep, good. i hope many hundreds of thousands more "innocents" are killed. your going to hang around a taliban or other islamic extremist? you knew the risk. no compassion for those that value hate/death above all else.:3eyes:

it's a strange system sometimes, but it is the best one we have come up with.

A couple addresses ago, a guy on my street was arrested for being a spy.
Obviously everyone on the street was in on it... (sarcasm)

Ask anyone about their neighbors. I bet you 9/10 won't even be able to recognize their neighbors if you showed them a picture.
When I lived in an apartment, I could recognize the people living in the two nearest doors to me. The rest of the building could have been anyone.
When in single family homes, I've never known who lives next to me.

A policy of bombing structures because a target of interest *might* be in there, regardless of all others residing, is bound to lead to problems.
As is a policy of shelling/bombing any structure where combatants run into for cover.
At some point, the just thing to do is to suck it up, go in, and kill only those that are guilty.
It's no less evil to throw away innocent lives to lessen your own risk. Doing so shows a real lack of respect for innocent life.
IMO, those that aren't willing to do so, should find a different line of work.

As it stands, we've pissed off probably millions of family members of innocent people. That's a lot of enemies to make.
But, DOD/administration isn't idiots. We've had never ending war since Korea, and a lot of people's livelihoods depend on that not changing.
Ultimately, we have to look out for ourselves. So I'm not expecting gobs of sympathy for strangers.
But let's at least be intellectually honest and not act surprised when someone comes for us.

Apparently he was taken over to Mount Auburn Hospital and his father might be flying over. They'll probably try to stabilize him there and move him to another hospital. Hopefully they'll be able to get some information, I'd find it hard to believe him or his family wouldn't know of other extremist.

 

his father is a threat, he should not be allowed into the country.

He is a citizen now as of last year none the less , So he gets all the protection under the law , lawyer a trail etc etc

 

They should all be watched for sure and I bet they are. I'd think they aren't going to be letting him talk to anyone before they get some info.

I guess he's been moved to Massachusetts General Hospital now.

We've got all the other facilities where we do extraordinary rendition... why settle for gitmo?

His capture was too public for that now - and his crimes were too public too.
A) People already know he's in custody
B) Authorities can't just 'make him disappear' without looking like they let one get away.

Had they nabbed him quietly, and he did something that drew less attention, it's not unlikely that he'd be waking up in a cell somewhere south east of Europe right about now, in time for some 'enhanced' interrogation... and no one would ever know what became of him.

They were just talking about how they'll be treating his case on the news and they're claiming to be treating it as a terrorist attack. So I don't think he's going to get the same rights.

 

This is absolutely the most sickening thing I have read on this forum, ever. You've lost your humanity.

 

Many seem to have forgotten America actually has a legal system, this should go through the proper channels.

Legal system around here has been a joke for a while now.

Law makers and private prison operators make policy hand in hand, funneling tax dollars to prisons, where later lawmakers get jobs.
In the mean time the private prisons double dip on income by selling cheap prison labor at 'competes with china' prices.
(fyi : 1 in 18 males is in prison or on parole. Most for 'morality' crimes - disapproved of personal behavior involving no one else. But it's the government's position that breaking any statute is an offense to all persons of the state ::eyeroll:: And of course the govt writes exceptions for itself regarding most laws - including the constitution.)

Police are trained like the military, and are faultless in court. If a cop feels moody and attacks you, YOU are in trouble for attacking an officer, and if you try to block any punches, you're in trouble for resisting arrest.

If it's the feds you're in trouble with, and it's inconvenient to deal with you under U.S. law, they just ship you overseas to deal with you outside of U.S. law.

Unless you have video to cover your back, you're gonna lose.
Even then, if the tables turn, the police get 'services to the community' taken into account, and the worst punishment they usually get is being fired (for things like breaking a man's neck and leaving him paralyzed). More often it's just paid time off. Even when they admit their actions.

It's best to just stay away from them and not draw any attention.

The U.S. has become like the communist countries that it picked on for so many years.
