Excuse my language but what do these ****ers expect to get from sending these people to jail. A son a Father, a brother....really. If you want war no need to send innocent people to jail.

I think I get the context of what you are getting at, but yeah, this is a low blow alright.

If you're going to another country to take photos of military installations, first make sure it isn't illegal to do so. Obviously these people didn't take the time to find out and are finding out the hard way.

If you take a photo of one of those Spanish cops wearing a patent leather hat, you'll do jail time! ;)

With Greece preparing for (civil) war, the reaction is logical, unfortunately.

Greece has many enemies...they should take care...first their economy then their land...these photos are not allowed at this era, hard times...

we are computerized and technology freaks here, but if we search history, after economy wars there are clouds and smoke of a world war...

    take care.

even so authorities do not know what they really did with photos i think, if they knew that they are finished and nothing passed through, they would be set free by now...

This is not the first time this has happened, its a bit silly to take pics of places like that.

Good to see that Greece has money to keep them in jail.

They took pictures of some military bases, what I still do not know (have not investigated) is if they broke into military base to take pictures or were at place where civilians can be and took pictures from there. If they were outside base taking pictures, then I really do not see why they had to be jailed.

This really is an insane situation. Hope it works out for these devs, but I'm not holding my breath.

I have a good friend at work - an avid lifelong photographer - who was thrown in jail by Saddam Hussein's regime for a year for taking photos of a bridge in northern Iraq. Needless to say, he's glad to be out of there.
