    @DirtyDee

    1. Visit otolaryngologist
    2. Try wired earbuds to test the "Bluetooth culprit" thesis.

@AsiJu No, I haven't read or even watched any videos regarding that at all. It was the sensation that I felt (an electrical tingle going down my ear then into my head causing pressure behind my eyes and my face began to feel hot). The moment I pulled the earbuds out the feeling went away, but a lingering headache persisted for a while.

@Truder I have a condition that causes earwax to accumulate quicker than most so I have an otolaryngologist that cleans them out once a year. The next time I see him I'll ask him what could be going on.

Ears have a lot of pressure/acupuncture points.

Obviously talk to your ear specialist, but also a visit to licensed acupuncturist could open up some other possibiities.

Don't really care what kinda fuckery it is, if it works.

I don't mind fuckery that makes me feel better.

You know what also makes me feel better?
    Not listening to your fuckery.

    Easily achieved too :)

It doesn't. If it did, it wouldn't be called alternative medicine. If would be called medicine :p

Oh it works, but not worth an argument here.

    Not my loss :)

I saw my otolaryngologist the other day and after cleaning out a little bit of wax he said my ears looked fine...

My first thought was perhaps a sensitive nerve (or one that has become more sensitive) close to the surface of the ear canals skin.
This could be affected in 2 ways, pressure/movement (even very slight from the bud or its vibration) or localised EM waves inducing small currents in the nerve.
Either making the other feel worse, developing to hypersensitivity.

This isnt knocking any of the other suggestions, adding to the pool.

All medicine was alternative until it was proven, proof is extremely rigorous and can be tough to assign, but doesnt mean it wont work when it hasnt been accredited.
We are weird as fk, what can help can be maddening to some.
And I'm very much a science believer!
I'm blown away that placebo is consistently proven to work with many people.

There are a lot of pressure points in the human body.
With the right knowledge you can certainly both take away and inflict pain.

Nothing superstitious or magical about it :)
