On vacation, friends laptop was working now when he turns it on it says

    " stop: 0x000000A5 (0x00000011,0x00000003,0x00000000,0x00000000)
The ACPI BOIS in this system is not fully complinat with the ACPI specifacatio. Please read.text for a possible workaround. You can also contact your system manufacturer for an update BIOS or visit http://www.hardware-update.com

TheBios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor or vist (same site as above) for an updated BIOS. your vendor or the latest Bios supplide by your vendor is not ACPI compliant. You can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup. To do this simply press the F7 key when you are promted to install storage drivers. The system will not notify you that the F7 key was pressed. It will silently disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation."

What is ACPI? All he really wants to do is get his pictures off of the laptop. Every time he starts to copy to disk reboot blue screen with above quote. Its a P3 800 dell with windows 2000 running it. Any help would be great. thanks
