    pointless

the 8800gt and the 9800 might be the smae basically but nvidia did make a couple of changes like support for hybrid sli so the silicon will be different so theres a risk it will kill it

including Hybrid SLI doesn't necessarily mean that the GPU itself was altered. The change could have been made in the bios or within the driver itself. That feature can easily be added either way. If they had to alter the GPU...why not do something to actually make it worth buying?

What is the point? The cards are identical in terms of performance, the only thing you may get is a slight bump in voltage since a lot of the 9 series cards got slightly more voltage than their 8 Series older bothers.

But I still say it's useless, if you want more voltage then do it the right way with a volt-mod.
