Does anyone here with Nvidia can make BF1 at 2560x1440 59.9 /60 Hz + HDR work ? Because for me it doesn't work , I think it stopped working since the some of BF1 patch before Dolby Vision support. after they added Dolby Vision HDR works only when I use 30 Hz at other resolutions I think , not sure. But with 1920x1080 59.9 it always works . Dolby Vision only works with 1920x1080 30 For my friend with AMD Card 580 it works fine with all other resolutions .... I have LG OLED 55 C6 TV.
May be it's because you can't set the bitdepth to anything but 8 in 1440p (at least I can't for my C7). Although 8-bit output technically still works (yes, even with HDR and it's dithered, so the banding isn't even that bad, though notable), the game might checks if you have 10+ bit and refuses to switch into HDR10 mode if not (an arbitrary decision by Dice?) but I am just guessing here. Dolby Vision is still mostly a mystery to me. I don't like it's obscurity. It's supposed to be infinitely compatible (even with your grandma's old monochrome CRT ) but technically nobody seems to be able to fully understand it and/or get it working right in the consumer space (not the TV or movie player manufacturers, let alone PC folks...).
Need to tell DICE then or EA to fix this. because it shouldn't be this way , it since WDDM 2.3 or something or they released the dolby vision support, with HDR only it worked fine.
