I'm going to tell you a secret: One can install whatever driver he/she wants. Beta or hotfix drivers do not void the warranty.

I've known people who mess with the hardware to the point that it should make them exempt from being covered under warranty, yet they still get a replacement.

No one has ever had a warranty issue because of a driver.

What ? I work on the RMA area of a computer reseller.
The only condition is no physical damage or broken warranty void sticker with all brands. EVGA in this generation accepted cards with damaged vrm area due they problems with the cooling

People have had to RMA cause of a bad driver.

Remember when drivers killed GTX 260/280 cards. But they were not denied RMA warranty because of it. And those were beta drivers too.

Swear OP is just really bored or some weird AMD Fanboy shrill.

EXACTLY, HOW CAN THEY KNOW WHAT DRIVER YOU USE?
And no, it does not invalidate warranty on any level.

This is so retarded, you legitimately have something wrong with your brain dude. Lack of basic logic this severe only happens with significant impairment like being really drunk or high or after a severe brain trauma.

Hotfix driver is just a fancy new name for beta driver.

Beta driver may cause instability or glitch your old gpu OC, system OC, sometimes crippling gpu - it doesn't perform as it use to if OC'ed, in that case take it out and put it back in..
install last stable driver, problem solved.

No, using beta drivers won't void warranty.

I have RMAed cards that used beta and hotfix drivers. This is just a bait/troll thread. Nvidia doesn't whql many drivers and just call them beta because it costs them money to get whql certification on a driver.

Now look what you've done, using evidence to show the OP was just making things up.

    Seriously though;

    1. If the issue is a hardware issue and you're sending the card back. nVidia can't possibly know what driver you were using on your end. Also your warranty is with your card manufacturer.

    2. If the issue is a software issue and you somehow think nVidia can know what driver you used last, then you can just install the latest WHQL drivers.

    3. These days there is pretty much no difference between WHQL & Beta & Hotfix drivers. They're either adding profiles, or fixing something, or finding out a new issue they need to resolve with every driver release.

Maybe in Zimbabwe OP but not in Australia, we have Consumer Laws.
If nVidia did what you said, everyone affected here would receive compensation guaranteed!
Also companies don't make the laws here for warranty or returns etc. They have to follow Consumer Law, even if the warranty or their return period has expired.

In UK law, the seller not manufacturer is responsible for any warranty claim.

Along with that WHQL drivers are just beta drivers with a cert

Similar to the final Insiders preview of Win 10 = the RTM once signed off by MS

So if hotfix = beta, and beta = WHQL, then using OPs theory, all drivers must void warranty :D
