Gigabyte now offers the XTR version of their Radeon RX 580 series. For this product series they make use of the Radeon RX 580 XTR. Basically this is a better binned GPU that has been sorted for higher... Better Binned XTR version Radeon RX 580 From Gigabyte Aorus
Is this a sign of the manufacturing process maturing for AMD? XT, XTX and now XTR grade chips? That is really good news!
Though squeezing more performance out of the chips is good, AMD should really be focusing on using these binned parts for better performance-per-watt. The 580 is a good performer for it's price point, but compared to a 1060 or 1070, it's a little power hungry. If the voltage could be lowered without lowering performance, that could make these GPUs much more appealing, especially when consumers are told about the greater OC potential (in the event they do care about speed vs efficiency).
