Supreme Commander Forged Alliance
Nice choice, great game, especially with the addon packs.
I'd have to go with C&C: Yuri's Revenge.
warcraft 3. second best probably Starcraft 2.
Rise of nation is the best RTS ever made!
Medievil 2 Total war,well kinda
Age of Empires 2 and Ground Control ahh, ground control, *drool*
tried ruse, controls seems far too simplified. unit controls are lacking. maybe because it's a direct port? but i think it's gameplay is nice.. it just needs a little bit more functionality in-game. kinda like WW2 world in conflict tbh, minus the pseudo base building.
here's my list for great RTS games:
Company of Heroes - for graphics and SP gameplay.
World in Conflict - Fast paced, easy to learn, rock-paper-scissors type of RTS.
Starcraft 2 - superb MP. far from CoH in the graphics dept tho.
Anno 1404 - not really a military/war type of RTS, more of a sandbox/economic RTS game. really great.. will get you hook for hours.
R.U.S.E. - much like WiC. controls is a letdown, poor port imo.
I play little to no RTS games, though from those I played in the past Warcraft 3 was nice, even AoE series was ok. Also I remember Stronghold beeing a game I enjoyed. From the newer ones though SC II is the only one I finished in sp campaign mode. Guess you could say WC3 was the best, because of it's epic campaign.
- Dune 2
- Rise of Nations
- Total Annihilation
I forgot to add Dark Reign 2 to my list tbh so that would be TA, C&C and DR2 being my favorites. Yuri's Revenge is one epic too tho
Ground Control 2 was one of my favourites, seems to be very underrated
I haven't played the whole Starcraft 2 yet so currently it's Age of Empires Series and Age of Mythology.
I have played 600 hours of DOW II. I think that makes it qualify for my favorite RTS ever.
Company of heroes and World in conflict.......period!
wow what a simple question.
...but i also liked Dune
PS The RUSE demo was installed on my system for about 12.4 minutes....
In terms of scale size nothing can beat Supreme Commander.
In terms of MP StarCraft takes the crown.
Civilization IV (possibly Civilization 5 soon)
not exactly RTS, it's more of a turn based "strategy" game.
For turn based i vote "Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of the Death". Still play it until this day even though Heroes V is out.
For me :
- Civilization Series
- Heroes Of Might and Magic V (didn't play the before, because at that time didn't own any PC )
- Command & Conquer 1 & 3 & Generals & Zero Hour
- Starcraft 2
- Anno Series
- Supreme Commander 1 (the 2nd is lame, SquareEnix is terrible at trying to make it)
That's all that i can remember.
