Hey everyone, i recently purchased the 7600 GT KO video card and wanted to know what is the best military game out there? I know of a few that came out in previous years but i don't want to spend 40 bucks a game when a better one comes out in 2 months or so?? So what is the best??

Battlefield 2...no doubt. It is the BEST. Get it!

Here, a video to show you how good it is...keep in mind this is on a map without air vehicles but you can get those too! Though in this video, they put a jet in it just to show you what bf2 is like with all vehicles. It's just a little mod, but all the gameplay is real.

Il-2 Forgotten Battles. It's a WWII combat flight sim, if you happen to like that kind of stuff.

I haven't tried out America's Army in a while, but that should be pretty good. Can't go wrong in at least trying it since it's free.

From what i've heard, America's Army is wayyyy too boring. It is realistic because it is designed for actual troops to use....but it makes the game no fun at all, so I hear from about everyone I know lol.

    I wouldn't count on that one :/

If you're into flight simulators at all, two words: Falcon 4.0.

The best flight sim out there. Period. End of sentence.

    BF2...no doubt about it....sadly i gave up my 6600GT in anticpation for a 7600GT.... and now i a m running on a 6200 64bit edition..... :(

can't do jack with this card.........

PS one of reasons to jump on this card was to enjoy more higher reso's and textures on this game.... i can only play this single player......but NEVER gotten tired of it after a month of buying it

If you like realism, and World War II, then it's the only way to go (unless of course you like flying games, in which case I'd reccomend Il-2 Sturmovik, and all it's different versions). There's vehicle and infantry combat, realistic balistics, armor penetration, physics, blood and gore, lots of weapons, great sound, and the graphics are pretty good as well.

Yeh i have all the COD's but get bored after awhile of playing them. Either I'm just that good (lol, i'm pretty good not to hype myself up), and there is nothing that keeps me coming back for more...cept scrims with my clan. I'm not really into flight sims, mostly fps. I'm really looking inot buying BF2 and hopefully i can run everything max on the graphics card i got. I was just weary cause i didn't want to buy a new war game and have an even better one come out soon. Anyone know of any good games in production??

Dont listen to the people who say AA is way boring.

AA is the best Military (modern) FPS ever made, the realism olny adds to its awesome.

Try it, and it will have you coming back for more. You cannot go wrong at all.

and aao wasnt designed for the troops to use, your thinking of full spectrum warrior.

AAO was desigend as a recruiting tool.

    (aao = Americas Army Operations)

    BF2 (Battlefield 2)
AAO (America's Army: Operations) This one is made by the US Army and if availible for free
DOD:Source (Day of Defeat) one of my personal favorites
    COD2 (Call Of Duty 2)

My only problem with AAO is that its sooo realistic some times that sucks the fun outa it, but it is free

I have played COD and Opertaion flashpoint. Both were good OFP had realsitic gameplay and really intense but graphics were bad.

There are so many games now but I think BF2 games are most popular atm.

BF2 hands down. It's just more fun. Sure, realism lacks a bit, but then it's a game, right? The reason I buy a game is to have fun, that's it :) If I want to know what it's like to fly a jet or be a sniper, I'd join the army.

    Operation flashpoint.

Graphics are quite old now, but sheesh it was great at it's time.
And fell Bf2 is good if you manage to crawl over all those bugs and problems and ramsucking and gameplay like sandwitch thrown out of skyscraper.

    Well it's super fun sometimes.

If you're into pre-gunpowder military games, Rome:Total War is fantastic.
