Name says it all really...
What is the best gig you've ever been at?
What was the best one you've ever been to TomF?
I saw Tool once, that was probably the best gig I've been to, the Melvins were opening and I'd say they were better than Tool...big bands don't usually come down to Australia much and our local music scene is absoloutley **** so yeah I choose that one.
well......i saw a local band perform called 1st Gear but they were ****
Korn in 1995 at Hammerjacks in Baltimore MD. My favorite band ever close up. It was so great.
In year 2000, In Los Vegas I saw best gig.
1.Elton John and Billy Joel onstage together performing
2. James Taylor
3. AC/DC's very first concert after Bon Scots death/replacement ( Seattle)
Peter Frampton at the Stockton Fair Grounds. Easily 3000 people there that day.
The Tea Party rocks every concert :cyclone:
They are the masters of improvisation so there is always someting new at the concerts.
summer sanitarium 2000. korn, system of a down, kid rock, powerman 5000 and METALLICA
I think the best gig ive seen so far was Metallica w/Godsmack in March of last year at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, Washington.
I saw both, Summer Sanitarium and Godsmak & Metallica. Both were really good. There are a few good local bands down here also.
Dang wish i saw Tool but Nine Inch Nails coming to toronto in may so thatll be kick ass.
Best gig i ever went to has gotta be the SARS concert in july of 03 in Toronto, 500,000 people jamming all day to AC DC, rolling stones, tea party, Guess Who etc. what a ****in day that was.
Meta|Gear - i'm going to see NIN too when they come to the UK - should be fun
Beavis - I dont know what the best gig ive ever been to was. Most of Reading (Festival) 2004 year was awesome...this year they've got Iron Maiden supposedly
I saw a local band called Rival Joustas who were awesome a few months back, but i think the best would have been at reading. at the front for green day was pretty fun. saw faithless once and they were cool. Heavy gigs are always fun though...
I always wanted to see Pantera, never got the chance though, as I was only 16 at the time and couldn't afford to travel to go see them.
Apparently you haven't really been to a gig unless you saw Pantera, I've seen some live videos and it's insane there's no other band that ever had the intensity they had when playing live.
I went to see see Prince's Musicology tour at the RBC center in Raleigh. Was a pretty badass show...unless you were sitting above floor level (or so I hear).
Also some years before that, I managed to carry my lazy arse up to D.C. to see his show there. Prince's live shows are absolutely amazing (not to mention the near two hour encore at the concert in D.C....which I had to leave before it was finished).
i saw christopher lawrence at a rave... omgah!!!
Van Halen 1984 with David Lee Roth
Rush last summer 3rd row
Sammy Hagar voodoo tour pulled people out of the croud and let them party on stage the full concert and served them all cobowabo taqulia
I saw Pantera in 95 in Houston Texas with Type O Negative, pretty rockin. But in 97 I went to Lollapalooza with Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, The Ramones, Rancid.
But the most entertaining show I've ever been to was a rave in Lafayette, Louisiana of all places. Rabbit in the Moon was headlining the show, and boy what a show. This "Bunny" guy would jump all over the stage in all kind of outfits. Grinding a cast-iron mask with a power-grinder throwing sparks everywhere. Swinging on a rope over the crowd, lasers reflecting off of his discoball outfit. I was gettin off hard to that sh*t man.
Also went to Perfect Circle, i love the bad and all but i gotta say the show was rather boring not enough people on the floor, should of only made it a general admission concert
Megadeth opening for Dio
Motley Crue (when they rocked) opening for Ozzy
