hi i have a 6600GT 256mb agp by xpertvision, the fan is starting to make funny noises so im wanting to get a new cooler for it. the cooler just now covers the ram and i cannot see any that do this so im not sure they will cool as well.

what would be the best cooler for my card, i also overclok it :):mad3:

I'd go with the NV Silencer6 Rev2. If for the only reason that it ports a good majority of the heat out of your case. Putting less strain on your case cooling.

I've had the normal vf700 and the faltal1ty and the latter is only slightly cooler just because it had the capability of spining a little faster. I'd go with the regular zalman or the arctic silencer 2.

The Zalman cools better than the NV silancer if you have a good case. The fatal1ty is the way to go if you have the money, but if not you wont see a big differance between it and the VF700-CU.

Yeah, I'd go with a Zalman, but in the meantime you can clean your existing fan from the dust thats accumulated there. Fans suck up so much dust that it can slow them down and that probably explains the sound you're hearing from it.

the fatality isnt the best performing cooler for a 6600. the thermalright v1 is, especially when you use 2 fans on it.

If you have to go aftermarket, it HAS to be the Zalman VF-700CU.

are your temps better now garylouden?
and pengful, there are other aftermarket coolers that are at least as good, if not better than the zalman.

that thing doesnt cool better than either the vf700, nv silencer, or v1. its for people that want to say they have watercooling, but dont want to spend the money to do it properly.

You don't have much choice esp if you are still on AGP, like me. The NV Silencer may do nicely but they don't fit the AGP model.

Well I am not sure if there is really one that is better than the Zalman.

thats true, i think the zalman is the only one that fist the agp 6600gt.
and the thermalright v1 is better than the zalman, with the stock fan, they preform within 2C from each other, but the v1 can accommodate 2 fans, and that way, it outperforms any other aftermarket air cooler. the only cooler thats actually better, is the stock gtx512 one.

I'd say those are great temps. I idle at 43C and get to around 60 during FEAR. That's with the Zalman 700 AlCu. When I take my box apart for benching they go WAY down.
