The 45.1's are excellent, but just a little lacking in high end clarity. I use them for fronts with some little Harmon/Kardon speakers in the rear, and that works perfect. My little brother has the Pulse 424's, and they sound great, but if you can get the 45.1's for the same price, they are better.

Their proffesional speakers used for live performance. I don't know why you'd use them for you computer. I should use my carvin amp then. Crazy.

I'll find a way to jerry-rig my 1500 watt amplifier out of my car for my subs and the 500 watt one for my mids and highs. Can't wait until there's 2 15" down-firing subs to provide the wall shaking bass. J/K of course, my Altec-Lansing 4 speaker + subwoofer setup works more than adequately!

hey Ice remember that LOUD does not equal good. It's all about loud with clarity, and no distortion

I wasn't knocking your system, I was just saying I prefer clarity.

Frankly, All computer speakers made for computers suck, if you compare them to the same priced speakers of audio products. If you look around you can find a used mini system for your front speakers and it will sound better than almost all of the computer speakers out their. And it will be louder and probably more clear than they are two. And if you can’t afford it just yet grab a pair of headphones and wait until you can. Personally I like JBL speakers but they are not in your price range. Save the money and get a mini system and forget these cheap, poor computer speakers. And if you’re a real audio nut like me then get a good onkyo receiver and start from there.
