i'd also have to say eVGA. haven't had anything but good experiences with them. Plus their E.A.R. (eVGA Advanced RMA) program is quite nice too. when you recieve the card, register it on their website, and by paying a small fee upon registering, should you have to RMA your card for any reason, they will send you the new card first, along with a pre-paid UPS shipping label.
I'm starting to think we should make this a sticky with as often as people inquire about the credibility of any given manufacturer. It would be convenient to reference one thread with everyone's input and feedback INSTEAD of searching through 100+.
or better yet.... make a sticky with a poll. no posts necessary.... just voting on your favorite manufacturer that you've had the best experience with.
Exactly! I had a Leadtek GF6800 Ultra before my current card and it died. Sent it back to Leadtek and the've sent me my current card, because the GF6800U was out of production.
well.... i'm fairly certain most companies will do that. think a lot of them say that if you RMA a card, and they are no longer in production, then you will recieve a replacement from what cards are available that'd be close in performance to what you returned..... *shrug*
EVGA all the way the only thing i don't like from EVGA is the pure black cooler design but i think im the only one that looks at the card everyday? :$
Well i would also suggest Leadtek, coz they are the oldest company in the scene since 1986, and that made their products very mature, and i think they are pretty good in what they do. you can tell it by this, just how long the have been on the computer scene. Well i have had Gainward geforce 2 mx 400, than Gigabyte 6600gt and now form Leadtek. Well my personal best is the one from Leadtek, the one from Gigabyte that i had , had a very loud fan, but geforce 8 series all have a quiet fan so there ain't be the problem in that. about evga well i've read alot of posts talking about rma, and xfx also, about their faulty models. If u think it that way, so why are so many rmas from these 2 dealers, there should be a big question about those2 firms imo, do they make so many faulty gpus in a return of a good rma response??
Yeah i also question this at times. I seem to find a lot of ppl rma'ing eVGA products, even though their RMA service is in fact the best around. I'm not questioning the crediblity of the manufacturer as I have never owned an eVGA card myself. But just curious as to know how many ppl have in fact RMA's eVGA cards. I know 1 mate that had to RMA his because it died .
I personally went with ASUS for my two 8800GTS cards, didn't like the idea of dealing with multiple manufacturers, if I would wind up having to RMA something. I also have an ASUS motherboard. I'm not gonna knock the other manufacturers, as I don't know enough about them and their products to say anything one way or the other.
I agree. We use to sell palit under the US name Daytona and the cards were always priced great and had very few issues. Sadly, we can't get them through distribution anymore..are they even in the US? Anyway I don't think I've had issues with any nvidia partner. We don't sell evga cards because they charge resellers $15 to rma a card (but not end users obviously) . MSI is our major brand but they don't have the lifetime warranty of most of the others. So when it comes to buying nvidia the best thing to do is buy on price, clock speeds and extras (like included games).
I personally have to go with eVGA, this is my first run with one of their cards and it runs like a champ. I'm kind of shy on BFG, I had a 6600GT that fried on me after 2 weeks of use. Good thing for a no hassle return policy at the store I bought it at. Asus are alright, nothing special but solid cards. I had a Elsa Gladiac GF2GTS that was a sweet card in its day or was it a Hercules 3D Prophet version, ahhh... good times good times....
In reality though I bet all the cards are pretty similar, I can find horror threads of people posting their stories about companies like EVGA or BFG even though I've never had any problems with either. All these companies have to have their cards certified by nvidia anyway, so if nvidia doesn't like it, it's not going out on the market.
