I hope you all are having an excellent day waiting for the end of this year, 2015. I´m new in this community, but I´ve been following this forum for a long time, never decided to enroll myself in until now. I´d like to know what you the experts think the best options in bios (asus m5a99x evo) to overclock an fx 8120 which is cooled by a corsair H75 are? I´ll await for your answers.

p.d. Sorry for my broken English, I´m not a native.

So i guess this processor is no longer important, or there's no setting that can improve its performance, I already checked the amd overclocking post and it gave an idea, but i was looking for something more specific, I´ll await your help, if any, lol.

No magic settings. Just take your time and test. Disable turbo and take note of your stock voltage. bump your mutiplier up an increment reboot test for stability and repeat until you are no longer stable then add a little voltage either offset or manual, test for stability and repeat keep an eye on your temps and aim for lowest voltage with highest clock. keep volts under 1.45 to be safe. Read up as much as you can and go slow. Lots of good guides out there to learn from.

After checking many guides and suggestions online, I finally have it running at 4.2 ghz with no more than 1.39 volts at load and it's stable so far, thanks for commenting back though.

Another thing, is it better to have a 120 radiator pulling air in or pushing it out from the case? Thanks in advance.

The manufacturers usually recommend pulling in because it can potentially keep your CPU cooler. Problem is that is will usually clog faster too since its basically acting like a filter.

I would blow out unless you are having Temp issues.

Thanks for the quick reply. I opted for running it as intake and so far so good the temps are quite good. As you mention it clogs faster but nothing major.

do u mean the rad pulls cool air in, and releases hot air into the case? check the temps of your other components after a heavy load session for an hour of so. If the parts and mobo heat-sinks are too hot to even touch, better redirect the rad outwards.

Isnt that a tad bit on the high side 1.39 V? I had my Fx 6300 at 4ghz running at 1.25 V on the stock cooler mind you. Now since we are on the topic of Amd cpus and what not, my kids machine which runs the A10-7870K for example the default cpu-v core is 1.450 stock cooling again/.I am going to have to get her a aftermarket cooler that thing is not only noisy but dosent cool for crap!

My 4790k Runs a Corsair H80I 4.6 Ghz at 1.250 V goes to show just how effective these little suckers really are! I never ever pass 55c gaming for 24hrs straight. Try and keep your cpu-vcore as low as possible thats the only thing I would advice you in chief. Good luck with your Overclocking adventures, its addicting isnt it? :)

I´m getting 42c on socket and 35c on cores (during load) and not a single problem with temps on the other components. As matter of fact, it's really addicting and enjoyable when you take your system to bearable extremes, lol.
