Hi guys, in your opinion of what u owned, heard. what is the best ATI card that they done all over those years? For me it would be the HD5850, it such a huge jump from the 4850 the idle power usage is minimal, performs excellent at all games, and looks good!
My faves cos of the performance the offered relative to nvidia cards at the time and price were: HD4870X2 HD4890
- 9700Pro Maya edition ( precursor of new generation cards, first ATI cards i have own ) - 9800Pro ( refresh of the Maya edition 1 year then ) - X1950XTX GDDR4 or X1900XTX ( beast cards specially in CFX ) - HD5870 ( Just cause it was the first DX11 lol )
9550GU (loved this card, i still have it, but has the bios f*cked up) x1900xt (she was a beast) hd5850 (awesome performance, low power consumption, low noise and really low heat) the hd5850 really shows how much ati improved their technology.
x700m on my msi m635 laptop. We had some nice mobile gaming back in the 2006.... 5870 i currently use is not bad either. Still,i continue to be somewhat nvidia oriented despite all its flaws.....
by far a hd5850, with low price...it has the best performance/price/overclockability ratio...it can be flashed with hd5870 bios...so it's monster for it's money range......i wish i had better tesselation...i wouldn't change them for 2 years...
Thoses card was the awsomeness for all overclockers on the world, this card have keep so many WR in bencher world, you can't imagine.. In games, this cards was fall behind but in the overclocker world......... Pure raw powers: 512bits ring bus ( I still ask me what will give this ring bus with a proper SP configuration ) 8 scores on the top 10 WR benchs was keep with 2x 2900XTX ... ( no Nvidia was not get the first 2 ...) unbeatable by Nvidia cards......... not the best cards for games ( even if they was doing their jobs nicely ) , but whoooaaa, was so easy to OC and so good performance for benchs .... Failed in games against the best Nvidia, but thoses cards was pure godness for benchers ..........
