Dude, you even have future frame rendering off, that's impressive. Your CPU is a beast

Game literally crashes and shuts down my PC. Amazing how buggy DICE games are. Refunded until it goes on sale and they get their crap together.

Nope. System is perfectly stable with every other game, application, stress tests.

Lol, it's the other way around buddy, Future frame rendering was "on" in every prior frosbite engine, they just exposed it with BF5 so you can turn it off. But really you should turn it on, you might gain a couple fps, at least if you're ever CPU limited which i doubt it ever happens.

Checked on my side i've the same performance than you with DX12 but as soon as i want to record OBS is taking away almost 10fps at 4K, only have 6 cores here. I usually use shadowplay but in DX12 with BF5 it stops recording after a couple seconds.

Not sure that Nvidia driver 416.94 is required to get ray tracing to work in BF5. If someone can check to see if the 416.81 works fine for RT.

Anddd i'm reinstalling. I can record in windowed mode but not fullscreen/borderless. Let me check if it's a multi monitor issue...

    you're playing fullscreen/borderless?

edit: reinstalled the driver, it's fixed, thank god ! OBS gave me terrible performance while recording

This. Anything besides fully stutter free is an issue. We're talking about split second scenarios, any stutter can cause your death, and that's unacceptable :D

I thought my vid was broken... turns out it plays stuttery on every device I use to watch it. What a mess.

Looks like @ 1440p with a 2080 I won't be using RTX for online at all. I might enjoy it a little bit for SP.. but yeah not looking so good. What is even worse is how sparingly Ray Tracing appears to be used in this title, and yet the performance hit is still too much. DLSS may be required after all, but we still haven't been able to see if they even work together. I wonder if DLSS and Frostbite just don't work together.. because I don't see why Dice wouldn't work on adding it if it does help with the performance as much as it's been praised for..

It's funny how narvik, a snow map, is by far the most demanding map... it's even alot more demanding than the city maps, which are traditionally the most demanding.

Comparing the city map devastation to narvik, narvik uses roughly 20% more gpu power on my system. Fyi, it's running at 4k @ 110% render res, locked to 58 fps for g-sync.

i've not had a single stutter on dx12 since the patch, feels 100% smooth now.
