7nm gpu's can't come fast enough... but not for increased raytracing performance, but rather for more traditional shader performance, as that is what most of us care about. If there was a gpu that had 30% higher traditional shader performance than 2080 ti, but no rt or tensor cores, i'd buy it ASAP !
Bummer if that is the case.. I thought the tensor cores would help with the RTX ops by using the AI network to de-noise though, saving performance.. or is that all done just under the RT core? I don't know too much about it, but some of the wording made it sound like the Tensor core and RT Core go hand in hand: "NVIDIA NGX features utilize Tensor Cores to maximize the efficiency of their operation, and require an RTX-capable GPU. NGX makes it easy for developers to integrate AI features into their application with pre-trained networks." https://developer.nvidia.com/rtx - although this could just be talking about DLSS only.
RTX Rating with 2080-Ti: 1080p: The way to go 1440p: Adventurer, but can get away with it 4k: No go zone! edit: still can't record footage in DX12 with shadowplay, even with new drivers
RTX Rating with 2080 Ti DX12 - No go zone @Memorian Almost? DX11 is always stutter free But in all seriousness, I will try it again.
Yes, that would have made sense if you had made use of the early access origin premier gave you starting at the 9th... but most of the early access has now passed, there's only 5 freaking days till you can play with a cheap key from third party site... and you are going to pay for 1 month to play for 5 days? Sigh...
I'm really hoping for both.. but according to Nvidia's list BF5 isn't getting DLSS (so far at least).. Shadow of the Tomb raider is on that list and is also getting Ray Tracing so at least with that game we should be able to see how the two interact. I was really hoping for this to be in BF5 though :/
So any MS Win 10 updates in version 1803 or 1809 are not required to get ray tracing to work in BF5? I take it the new Nvidia drivers alone are enough for it.
man DXR kills performance on BFV really bad even with TAA low i couldn't beat 40fps during action scenes
Can't even get the game to boot in DX12, crashes to desktop without error. But i care more about keeping my FPS above 100 then some fancy reflections. I play to win. EDIT: It could be cause i have TAA disabled through a user.cfg?
Yah, I just tried it - at 4K, forget it. At 1440P on medium DXR, it is ok, but still not as good as with no DXR. In general, DX12 does appear to be improved although I still think DX11 offers a better experience
Here too. Can't start the game. CTD after game intro. I couldn't care less about DX12 so $h1t that you smell it with your eyes. FYI in DX11 game loading is instant for me. DX12 takes much longer in comparison with DX11. At the moment DX12 is a huge compromise for this game.
